| The Tiberium looks horrible, and there's no consistent lightsource from the weird reflections on the crystals.
Also, the static (map and textures and buildings) and the dynamic (the units) look like they are on different planes altogether. The plane that ground units inhabit seems to be changing to rapidly. From the top of the map it looks like a 3/4 view, while at the bottom it looks like a top-down view. The problem is, the ground doesn't scale in the same way.

| Correct if I am wrong, but wasn't the Russian front the brunt of World War II (European side anyway).
The majority of the German army and Air Force was on the Eastern front and the Russians were getting pounded and bled for the entire Alliance. The Western front was a march to the German heartland and had all of what?--2 armored divisions holding up a million man convoy, not to mention complete air superiority? Besides, the Russians still got to Berlin first, despite having to go through most of the German armed forces. My hat goes off to them.
Hell, if the brunt of German military been in Western Europe, and the Allies had been held up in a stalemate battle against superior German armor, the Third Reich would've collapsed from the East side instead, and Europe would be a giant Soviet bloc today.
Then again, the Soviet Union probably would've been much different, and not have distrusted the Allies so much for having to fight off the Nazi empire by themselves. Sometimes I think the fear of communism was a self-fulfilling prophecy. By not helping countries emerging from feudalism/early 20th century nationalism, the "communist" countries all went through tough periods where they were cut off from world trade, and developed a hate for capitalist nations because they had to pull themselves out of starvation and the ruins of WWII, in addition to being blackballed, embargoed, and no international recognition.
Oh the mistakes we make as people in this world. Flag this | Edit this post |
