| | BUT, I would pay to see (at the standard film price point) a feature length "cut-scene" movie if it were a Star Wars movie made by the folks at Bioware who created those Old Republic cinematics trailers. Those things are awesome, 10x better than the Clone Wars crap on CTN. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » dumb Once again, game was cracked in minutes and pirates are playing DRM free versions.
Once again, legally paying customers have software on their computers known to cause screw ups.
Once again, the industry defends this move by claiming it prevents piracy.
Once again, the industry is shown to be a bunch of idiots when it comes to DRM.
Stop DRM now. I bought Warhead b/c I loved Crysis. I could have gotten it through torrent for free. You stopped NO ONE with this DRM scheme who wanted to get the game without paying. But you pissed off your paying customers, including me, who now have an unnecessary piece of software 'monitoring' me, when I could have a better version of the game without having paid for it. It is insanity. Wake the hell up EA. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Per the latest steam survey less than 10% of users have Vista + DX10 graphics card. Still.
Still planning on skipping Vista altogether, mostly in protest of MS decision to try to blackmail us into upgrading just to get DX10. Screw them, I'll use XP and skip Vista and they can choke. DX10 is only subtly better, and in certain instances like Crysis they had to specifically disable the features DX9 could provide to make it look as good as DX10. Thankfully Warhead will not require any hacking or special runarounds to get the same visuals under DX9. Link: http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I've paused my playing until they release the patch as the 1.1 patch fubared my game. Checkpoint saves and quicksaves now take 5-10 minutes to complete or they just crash the game. I'm not reinstalling, so till they get 1.2 out the door, it's puzzlequest to kill time Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Sorry folks So sorry, but it doesn't matter if 100% of parents agreed that they wanted certain legislation passed. It's unconstitutional, you still lose. See if you can get a Constitutional Amendment passed to regulate video games cuz that's the only way it's happening. Good luck with that. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "There is no way that anyone can convince me that the horribleness and gruesomeness of the crimes that we've been seeing is not somehow a result, at least in part, of the violent video game culture."
Clearly, because Charles Manson, Hitler, Stalin, the Menendez Brothers, Cain, OJ and Matt Damon were all well known GTA players. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | No surprise, FS is run by Quakefans. I forget the original scores they gave UT and Q3, but they rated Q3 significantly higher, even though just about every other review around said UT was overall much better. I don't think FS ever played any UT games. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Slow to get into, then engrossing It was hard to get into, and I really wasn't enjoying myself until about 8 hours in. The inventory system and control scheme sucks, and it takes too long to walk everywhere, but after the first 10 hours or so, the atmosphere sucks you in more than almost any other game I've played. HL2 could have been this engrossing, but was too linear. If they open the world of HL up a little bit, look out. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » How can a corporation make this decision? Obviously Vista-only Halo 2 won't exactly hurt MS too much, but what about other Vista-only titles like Shadowrun? How can a company put resources into a game that only 1% of people are using? I know there's an xbox360 version too, but someone had to spend time on a pc port. And package, market and ship it. Why would they approve a DX10 only version when it excludes 99% of the marketplace?? Flag this | Edit this post |
