| » wow. So ~$180 million in sales (3 mil copies sold x $60/copy)....all in 1 month's time.
I'd love to hear what the costs were (development, marketing, distribution, ect), and try to figure out how much profit they've already made.....anyone have any of those numbers by chance? Flag this | Edit this post |

| Spot on!
It's completely blown my mind for years how they get these really important bills, and then they "tack on" these other "little" bills that get to ride the coat tails. Half the time these attached pieces of legislation have absolutely NOTHING to do which the larger piece of legislation, but they get passed anyway, b/c they were "riding along"!
How does that make any sense??? Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think that this is one of those situations where these developers need to quit bitching, and change up their business model. Regardless of anyone's thoughts about it, Piracy isn't going anywhere.
There is a Rediculous amount of money to be made in PC gaming. Like Kessandra mentioned, there are plenty of games that have made a lot of money by offering Great Online content. WOW did it, and look at the sick money that Spore has made. And yes, you can easily get a pirated copy or spore, but then you can't utilze the online aspects of the game. See what I'm getting at here?
Personally, I don't think pirating is as much of a problem for the industry, as it is a convenient excuse for poor sales. I even read somewhere the other day that Crysis ended up selling a ton of copies. But all you hear about is them bitching about pirates for poor sales!! Nevermind that probably 70% of people didn't have computer setups that could run the game properly. There's NO WAY that hurt sales... Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Since they're coming out with these new cards, I wouldn't buy either the 260 or the 4870...I mean, it's only a couple of months away. But if you're at that point where you just HAVE to upgrade (man, I've been there!), they you might think about snatching a 4850 to hold you over. You can pick one up for around $150 (rebate), then when the new cards come out, you'll probably be able to ebay the 4850 for close to what you paid for it. Then just get the new card! | I was thinking the same thing last night. And what about overclocking potential? I would seem that the 4850 should have quite a bit of head room for overclocking, where the 9800GTX+ is essentially already overclocked....
What do you guys think? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Either way, they'll probably charge extra for the systems that are DVD enabled, so might as well get one now. Still a dumb move to announce this now though. Kind of like changing the name from "Revolution" to "Wii".....idiots. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » H*** Yeah, it's the Shit!! Game seven baby! What a game! People that don't like hockey are just to damn stupid to understand it, or to ignorant to really give it a chance. Kind of like arena football. You just have to give it a good chance, maybe go to a game. I'll tell ya who's crazy; these millions of people that love to watch cars drive around in a circle for 3-4 hours. Gay. Flag this | Edit this post |
