| Nice job on the review Jacob. I think this is a great game and that is coming from someone who thinks the first one is his favorite single player FPS game ever.
The only low point of this game are the boss fights, well and I think they endings are a bit preachy and not nearly as good as the first game (but we play for the journey not the end, so it's nothing serious).
P.S. lets just pretend the second game never was made. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Well I can understand that, I have hundreds of games myself. However, they ALL came in nice little boxes, the gem in my collection is the original DOOM box and floppy disks. Call me old fashioned, but I don't feel that there in any collectors value in owning the rights to games on some account. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | This reminds me of an saying, A man will pay double for an item he needs, a woman will pay half for an item she doesn't. You can substitute item for a game, and need for play, and man/woman for smart/stupid. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | If you though prisons were full now because of war on drugs and pothead filling up the joint, then how will it be in the future when every kid who has ever watched copyrighted material on youtube has to goto prison. There is a problem when private companies get to write the law, but being against that is communism and we can't have that. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I hope they can handle all the cheaters, I remember when I used to play this game that every time they had a free weekend, the servers would be filled with cheaters trying out hacks as they knew that if they got caught they could simply make another account. Flag this | Edit this post |

| PopCap Games: Turing wast of time into art, and making "gamers" out of everyone.
Plants Vs. Zombies was a great game, but I have to say Bejeweled did not mange to hold my interest as Columns (SEGA), never liked Tetris (Nintendo). Flag this | Edit this post |

| Can't wait to read your review, I found the game to get better after the first levels, but shame about the underwater level. (I can't stand underwater level in any game so I am not the best judge, must be a fear of drowning or something). As for the graphics/art, sometimes its terrible other times its actually good, almost like amateurs worked on some parts while pros on another.
Also, what about a Brink review?
I didn't really like it at first, but after playing for a while it's stating to grow on me, maybe with few updates it might become a great game after all. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I got the original version not steam. Had some issues with the old dos installer (drive free space), though I did not expect it to work.
Anyway I tried Rygels High and Ultra-High resolution texture packs, and with my 512MB graphics card I was constantly getting into slow downs when loading texture with Ultra, not so with the High res.
I tried the Nightmare engine, but I just got gray screen and the game wouldn't start. Maybe I need to update my nvidia drivers to 275.33, I only have 197.45, as I don't update unless games don't work. Regarding Berserker@Q2 engine, I had some crashes, but it looks great and is under development. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Did some looking around for Quake1 and Quake2 projects, found 2 very interesting; darkplaces mod for Quake1; and berserker@q2 for Quake2. They come with dynamic lightning but, you need to also get enhanced textures for best results.
Now, just have to see if the old Reaper bot still works, and set it to skill 3 :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, Serious Sam and Painkiller are the only new old-school FPS games. Both very fun, liked Painkiller though more.
Quake 1 weapons were all fun in single-player, but in multi-player the rocket launcher was way superior to the rest, maybe they could upgrade the other weapons and leave the rocked launcher they way it was. The Quake1 dm4 was really the only great mp map, while there Quake2 dm maps were over all good.
What I would like to see is Quake1 world, with a remake of the best maps, maybe not totally alike but similar structure so you could tell what inspired them. And then make an official mod for it that included the original Quake2 DM maps and weapons. Maybe someone would remake old-school CTF and TF for it, that would be great. | » RE: zohar78 You know, I still buy any wipeout game that I find because I was so impressed with the first one,. I know it's sick because I never find the time to play them, same with those old school sonic collection that pop up now and again, it's a sickness I tell you. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Well I have to agree Unreal world/maps were way superior to anything I had seen before at that time. I remembered been more interesting in exploring the world than killing monsters in unreal. Even Farcry/Crysis did not manage to create such an atmosphere. The first Unreal was far definitely a lot better than the games that followed it, Unreal Tournament I found being the best Muti-player game of the series. Flag this | Edit this post |

| After the disappointment that Quake4 and ET:QW were (not that ID made them), I would like to see original Quake1 or Quake2 remake, especially Quake1, it had great speed, fun weapons and enemies, the character could really zoom through, generally good maps (although some maps were stinkers), but I prefer Quake2 multi-player over Quake1.
I still remember the feeling of inserting Diamond Monster 3D Voodoo graphics card and loading up Quake1 for the first time, I wonder if there will ever be another experience like that in the future. (maybe when we have Virtual Reality/hologram Quake) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yeah, I hate when some stupid medic revives me only to die time and a time again. They should not get exp on a revive unless the person stays alive for 10 sec. (or just let people choose if the want to be revived, as often one is out of ammo and the easiest way to get more is to respawn. That brings me to another point, why not have infinite ammo, just like we have infinite health.) Flag this | Edit this post |
