I feel its a very biased review... moreover this is not a good exclusive for PS3 but PS3 do now have some of other very good exclusive and i think every PS3 owner now can choose from a very good games library especially after the MGS4...
I came back on this site after a long time and i really feel that the quality in reviewing has gone down and personal fanboyism has taken over objectivity.
I will like to see a next version of transport tycoon.. it was such a gr8 game and have so much potential and only increasing the AI of the computer could have made this game a lot more fun... enemy only tactics to win was to lay the track in such a way that you couldn't make your own track which i believe was pretty negative way to defeat anybody..
Anyway i really wish they create a newer version of the Transport tycoon.
Very good analysis. I remember the first RTS game is WAR (Ancient art of war) and it was really a joy playing, because they put so much effort in keeping it simple and manageable. In today's RTS game the biggest effort is put into making the graphics and giving huge number of options to the user but the game play is lost in doing all this. The most important thing is to provide a very entertaining game play.
Turn based X-COM was total joy playing and my id owes a lot from this genre.;) Master of Orion was another pure classic, haven;t found any match for it even today. similarly i remember Transport Tycoon another very entertaining and relaxing game... these people use to put lot of effort in game and i don't see in today's games. i think these title should be reincarnated..
I played Master of Orion long long time ago and i have played Galactic Civilization 1 & 2 both.. and i can safely say that in game play Master of Orion is light years ahead.. i mean it was enjoyable and i use to play it again and again... but in case of Galactic Civilization 2 after finishing one time with the easy and the second time with the normal army i have not decided to play again...
I still remember that in MOM there use to be repair units on ships and then u could control the ships in fight... and you could direct them... and spying was pretty good.. you could even tell which technology u want to spy on..
In case of GC2 i still don't know why the Moral is so low in some of the most fully developed Colonies with 3 or 4 Entertainment units... and plus there should be some explanations there in the game some...
The magic of game play is missing in the GC still. but they have surely improved from going to GC2 from GC1.
