Lesson? The vid was just stating a fact. A lesson would it be if we could have learned how to avoid to lose a castle :D

The vid would look less cheap if they would have let someone say that line.

Addons dont matter anymore as long as they are continuing to bore us to death with the daily quest crap and same old 5-man-hc´s for two different tier sets. Those dailies are killing the fun of playing another class, let alone eight (soon to be 9).

The pandas are telling us about Blizzard´s target audience :p

Yea sure, and I´m sure the software industry had to invent punkbuster and other anti-cheat-tools to prevent you from playing good instead of prevent cheating :p

If cheaters where a minority there wouldnt be a need for anti-cheat-software in the first place ;)

none for me. Shooters are getting old and there are too many cheaters around to be having fun.

Kinda hard to understand what makes it fun to play with wallhacks, aimbots etc. Sucks the fun right out of it.

I´m still amaged that players are paying ridiculous amounts of money for a dumb ingame pet or mount.

A game goes for 50 to 60 bucks and a pet for 10. I wonder that so many players don´t care that this is unreasonably disproportional.

If you cant stand Blizzard then something must be wrong with you since they released some of the best games around.

Your loss ;)

99 % of all games have an online requirement nowadays. Even lame console games. Thus it´s not really a good reason to dislike a specific develloper for that.

There is no downside to being online since RPG´s are boring anyways when played alone.

I´m happy they are postponing it. The servers always are too slow due to overload at christmas time anyways with all kids playing.

Plus I prefer to wait for a bugfixed game rather than being a paying betatester.

Kudos Blizzard!

Some comparisons:

- Many people are spending more money on cigarettes within a few months.
- When you are going out drinks are so expensive that only one evening costs you 100 bucks easy (when it´s cheap).
etc. etc. etc.

Thats a stupid date for a release. All the kids will be in theyr holiday´s and be playing thus the servers will be overload and will go down several times for sure....

I wonder why devellopers never learn from the past resp. from the bad experience of other mmorpg´s.

Those skilltrees look sophisticated and it´s kinda useless to make a build on a website when you can not play and relate to the char.

You´d be doomed if you could not reset those builds once you decided to skill one.

Yea but all the sueing over crap is actually just happening in the States rather than the rest of the world. Here such games would just land on an 18+ index so that kids can not buy them. (Which does not mean that they do not get theyr hands on them :p)

If you spilled someone with coffee here you´d just get sentenced to pay costs for the cleaners rather than some unrealistic amount. The normal case though is to say that you are sorry and be done with it ;)

It´s somehow pathetic that people can not distinguish between a game and reality.

You can not blame a movie or a game just because someone goes out and does the same in RL. People who are doing something bad in RL which they saw in a movie or did in a game simply are sick!

Cutting out brutal movie scenes or reducing the possibility to do "bad things" in games does not change those sick people. They do not need to see a specific movie or play a game to do those things to others. Sick people just grow theyr own ideas and do it anyways.

Everyone has seen bad things and many have played shooters and 99,99 % of us are still no mass murderers simply because we can differ between fiction and reality.

In the states you just have to watch CNN to get ideas anyways. Everytime I´m switching to CNN they are talking about war and turmoils as if that where the only topic´s around the world. Thats quite sick.

Funny because just yesterday I trashed the old wing commander and privateer games. Privateer even was on floppy disk :p

It is easy to resist when you remember that these games ran at 640 x 480 or even lower resolution and you got a monitor who´s running at 1920 x 1200. So not just the ugly graphics scare you away but the interpolation even more.

And it´s doubtful that you get it to run on an actual system. Even with a dos boot disk.

I wish they would make a new one with today´s graphics.

Never read a worse excuse than his Barbarian gibberish. It is like comparing apples to pears.

But at least he admitted why they doesnt want players to be offline. Because Blizzard doesnt make money with ppl who are not trading since Blizzard gets it´s share of RL-Money with every trade ;)

I still will not be buying things from the AH because imho buying is counterproductive in such games. Finding stuff is fun, buying stuff is boring.

All I saw in his comment was excuses. I dont see what´s bad with playing offline even though it would bore me to death :p

OFC offline games have one real downside for devellopers... thats cracks. It seems to be easy to get a fixed exe that saves ppl from buying the game.

But the same applies to games that are forcing the community to be online. There might be a fix out there that makes it possible to play it offline by emulating server connectivity.

To me it doesn´t look like there is an improvement going on with game faces. Even less in mmorpg´s. The first assassins creed had better faces already...

I think too that it is ugly but I´m getting bored of all the comic style mmorpg´s. The explosions shown are pityful and the black/white video part is not really good advertising.

Two weeks I have been playing WAR, then I never touched it again. And how inventive is the name... "Wrath of..." that´s just lame partial copying of game names who where actually successful.

Bioware can do better than this.

Let the comic style games die already!

I´m hoping they can make it happen soon because I´m really tired of the comic style mmorpg´s out there.

Wouldn't it be lovely to be playing mmo's on that engine. Imagine to see real faces in mmo´s rather than the comic crap they are feeding us with to make it run smoothly on every shitty notebook.

Thats why I´m avoiding steam whenever I can.

In the past I used to be offline for a year and went back playing D2-LOD to pass the time. I guess that wont be possible anymore. Except some nice cracker would provide an offline crack for us.

My reason for cancelling the sub was basicly boredom with the repetition. Getting better gear by repeating 5 - 10 daily quests is a very boring kind of way. Considering that I now got a full account of lvl 85 toons it was way too much repetition. Doing the same content with other chars that (as mentioned by Labotomizer) dont play too differently anymore bored me too much.

Also I couldnt be arsed to run the old 5man-HC´s for new gear again. I was in a raiding guild who at least finished the 10man raid content and a few of the 10-man-HC bosses. But they would have expected me to gear in 5man-HC again for the new Raid instances.

I would suggest Blizzard to release new 5man-instances along with new raid content and cut the damn daily quests to a minimum. Instead they should implement real quest chains that get you where the dailies would get you.

The harder content wouldnt be a problem but the leaving players are a pain. Not just once the whole party but me was exchanged several times until I reached the last boss just to loose the part I needed to a tank/healer who was able to roll need on dps gear.

Imho the rolling system is all wrong now. As dps you have the downside to wait 30 mins to get in and if that wasnt enough healers and/or tanks, who get into instances in a few secs to mins, ninja the dps gear. This rolling system is imho not fair. It should be spec based. If you join as healer you should just be able to need on caster gear etc. You are flagged by the game anyways so this shouldnt be too hard to accomplish. It´s not just about dps gear. Tanks loosing theyr shields to a dps-warr etc. happend alot 2 since the dual spec arrived.

just one, since then I´m avoiding steam because I hated the necessity to be online to play a single player game.

+ steam is stupid. I bought a game once and installed it. It worked without steam. Weeks later I klicked the steam.exe in the game folder and that stupid steam started downloading the whole game into the steam folder again who was already on my drive. Just to make me go online for an offline game? /rolleyes

I deleted the steam folder again and started the game like I used to. Without the need to go online with steam first.

They just show whats possible not that it is necessary to have that much data. So lets assume a game would be using 100 GB instead of 10 to 20. Starting it from an SSD might make it possible to load data fast enough. Now it would depend on how much CPU and GPU power and RAM it would need. But I do not think that downsizing it to actual systems would be much of a problem. The advantages would obviously be worth while.

The possibility to sell items for real money will indeed lure chinese farmers. Just they would be there anyways and Blizzard wants a piece of the sold items, thats why they are going that way. That does not mean that I´d approve.

I´m pretty sure there will be "patches" to help sologamers to play offline again. Such limitations never have caused restrictions for long ;)

I´ll avoid both AH´s because when I buy all the things I want, why would I continue playing? Thus selling some gear for ingame gold makes no sense as well. Ingame gold will pretty much be useless ingame (except for the AH) which is kinda an anachronism.

The competition could lower the prices on the real-money-AH significantly making it hard to make it worth a while for none Asians :p
