| Amen... I have the 500th Mac from the beginning and back then Apple was still the not-smug underdog with a great product. Since then they're getting high on their own marketing BS.
Like you, all that I see today when I encounter a Mac user is either somebody in grades K-12 or some tragically hip person like you described.
Also, Apple makes a killing on their margins. Some as high as 150% according to Business Weekly. They can gouge their audience because their system isn't open. It amazes me that the hip folks are willing to over pay just to be hip. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Don't worry, you're not flaming, you're pointing out a fact.
I remember Sony being so proud that they had the deep pockets that would allow them to sell those units at a loss in order to capture market share.
I also think that they've loss sight of that basic premise and have become intoxicated with the technology. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I've been reading up on this and it does sound like Shayne is trying to wiggle out his contractual commitments.
Whether or not Jackson has become a pretentious "git" is irrelevant. The have a contractual agreement and Shayne and the boys are just getting greedy.
This reeks of Tom Cruise's production company getting fired last year. Say what you will, the underlying motive in that case was that studio didn't like the payouts that they contractually had to make to Tom and Paula.
Shayne needs to shut up, stop being so freaking greedy and meet his commitments. He may not realize it yet, but he really needs Jackson for the Hobbit. I don't see anybody else being able to make it "right". Flag this | Edit this post |

| Personally, I'd like to see Apple take a hit on this one. I'm pretty fed up with their arrogance.
Don't get me wrong, they make wonderful products. I'm just tired of the smugness. Just look at Job's expressions during the presentations... Flag this | Edit this post |

| And some folks are pointing out that as a media service, the authors bear some responsibility for at least a quick spelling & grammar check.
Even though it's incredibly time consuming to run spell-checker in programs like Word. That 10 seconds really does kill media productivity. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Now rumors are emerging that it'll actually be the 2007 holiday shopping season before we see it.
I'm starting to lose interest in this franchise. I know that they're "fanatical over perfection", but I hate to tell them that their releases still have problems.
Time for Gabe and the gang to be a little less OCD and think about the gamers, not just the game reviews. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hey, for $25 at BestBuy, why the H#ll not? And at 5 hours of play, that's rougly $5/hour for entertainment. Still cheaper than a new movie and a lot more entertaining in my estimation.
Yep, it's more of the same but so what.
I agree that there could have been a heck of a lot more plot development. I'm wondering if TimeGate was restricted in how far they could take it. It kind of reminded me of the Half Life2 expansion. It pushes the story along a little bit further. Plus the prices are in the same ballpark.
I'd be willing to bet that the new Monolith project picks up and runs from the finale of this expansion pack.
This pack leaves me with even more questions as to what's really going on. I love that... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Probably because most movie execs couldn't play the Halo games in the first place so they don't have a clue. Well, actually, they don't have a clue about a lot of things...
Now, if there was a Halo comic book, then maybe they'd get it. Flag this | Edit this post |
