I can see nVidia quoting them as saying the new driver will "end user efficiency" ;)

Sounds like the Wii of the OS-world. Simple and appealling to the masses, but may lack real depth. It's too soon to say, though.

The weirdest things I've ever encountered when working on a customer's PC have been a dead mouse in one and not a family of cockroaches, but an entire kingdom in another. A customer bought a new PC on a Friday and brought it back Monday saying it just quit working. I opened it up and those tiny roaches were everywhere.

I bought this monitor from NewEgg a while back and have to say it's very nice. I use it for gaming and video playback and have no complaints except that sometimes the power button can be finicky when turning it off/on.

As if video gamers aren't already tagged as being lazy, now the games play themselves.
If Nintendo would have had this technology when I was a kid my hands wouldn't be gnarled atrocities from trying to beat Mike Tyson.

I was in the same quandry with the Force Unleashed. The thought of motion control lightsabers and force moves sounded awesome, but then I read reviews and went the 360 route.

People complain because it takes developers too long to put out a game and then they complain because they don't wait long enough. Besides, I don't think you can say they're screwing customers until you play the game. It may turn out that everyone will realize that it's a great game that couldn't have been done as DLC or it could be a bad rehash thrown together for money. With their track record I'm hoping for the prior, but I do think opinions should be held until the game arrives.

There are games that in theory should be fun for the Wii, but in practice they're not. Case in point: I'm torn on what console to buy Ghostbusters for. The idea of motion-control for the game sounds fun, but how different will the game be and will the controls be any good?

I see no problem with it. There are so many armchair developers saying "there's no reason they couldn't have done it as DLC", but if it's really that different there may well be a reason they couldn't do it that way. Also, if they split the campaigns and release 2-3 for ~$20 each, plus more for the weapons and what not, that pretty much equals the cost of a new game anyway. I think the whining should at least be saved until the game is released.

So it's an upgraded PS2 Eye Toy? The tech demo looks cool, but honestly, it's all in the implementation.

I can't think of any Star Wars game I've played that I've been completely let down by with the exception of the Sony MMO.

Yeah, I guess that's what I was thinking. There's a niche market for them. It sounds like maybe that niche has been filled, though.

I never got the whole Atom/netbook thing. I guess they serve their purpose, but you can get a decent notebook for a few bucks more that can do a lot more.

20 seconds of gameplay footage and the rest is from the TV series. It's hard to tell too much at this point, but it's Star Wars so I think there's a law somewhere that says I have to buy it.

I played the demo, too, and liked it, but didn't know if the game would get boring and repititive. Your review shed some light on that. It's good to see a game review on the site.

That was the highlight of the movie for me. As a kid going to the movies in the 70s and 80s you were nearly guaranteed a great time if Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLouise were paired up.

So we have a spinoff of a spinoff? As long as Marvel doesn't give us Stilt-Man: The Movie as a spinoff of Daredevil I think we'll be okay.

I remember getting a VoodooII add-in card just to play Spec Ops. It was rare to find a modern military game back then and I had to play it.

I think it is just a matter of too soon. Sure we play games based on other wars, but the most recent of those has been over for more than 30 years. I think if your loved one just died a few years back in this particular battle you wouldn't want to see a game based on it. Which is probably why most modern war type games use fictional settings.

Goomba #1: "Hey, I know where to go. Follow me!"

Goomba #2: "Okay...hey watch out for that pipe, dummy! Follow me. I know where to go."

And so that sad drama plays out for eternity. The painful monotony can only be broken by the squish of a fat plumber's boot.

Reminds me of that episode of the IT Crowd where they're showing off the Internet (a little black box that weighs nothing) and the crowd is all oohs and aahs.

Wait...was the Last Samurai referenced by the "woo" the one featuring Tom Cruise? I thought that movie was horrible and not just because it featured Tom Cruise.

One the one hand it reminds me of the Phantom Console. On the other, it would be essentially like creating a terminal server connection to their system.

It's a smart move. Take a product that's having trouble going anywhere and mix it in with the MMO genre (arguably the most popular one out there) and you've got huge sales.

Speaking of the "Paul is Dead" theory, I saw a poster of Abbey Road the other day and the cigarette that Paul's holding had been airbrushed out. Is nothing sacred?

The animated movie had some of the action and fun of the original trilogy, but it went too cartoony with all the nicknames (Skyguy?) and baby Hutt. I think the current animated series tries to walk the line between the two, but sometimes loses. I liked the two-part episode where the CIS have the huge ion cannon. So it's not so bad to me.

Hey, Ringo was cool and his post-Beatles career is far superior to Paul's in my opinion.
