Yeah I'd prefer to not even hear about the mindless blather of people who should be institutionalized, like Mr. Thompson. We're only feeding such trolls by giving him publicity, so let's not.
I'm calling BS on those numbers without some kind of proof. If that was the case, EVERY developer would be making digital releases exclusively due to their vastly larger profits.
release dates:
windows 98: june 1998
windows xp: october 2001
windows vista: november 2006
windows 7:october 2009
windows 8 estimated: 2012
With the exception of the huge delay for windows vista, it looks like they're pretty much consistent with the length of time between releases. I'm really not sure what your argument is there.
listen to the actual announcement. Free users are not losing any functionality. Paid users are gaining new functionality not currently available at all, such as the automatic push-updates, Qore access, exclusive beta software, etc. Sounds like a good deal to me.
They showed the cutscenes full of rednecks already. The between-mission scenes are of this nature. I'm sure the demo videos of them are on youtubers somewhere.
I've owned 2 BFG video cards and both failed in under a year. Their customer support was top notch but their 8800GTX cards disappointed me with their poor reliability. Lets hope they can thrive in a market they are more suited for.
If only that were the case. Activision and EA got rich by being jerks. EA has definitely never been financially impacted by their bad press. Most people don't usually care who makes their games.
That is a seriously stupid comment. L4D2 is one of my favorite recent purchases and was fully worth twice what they charged for the amount of enjoyment I've gotten out of it. Don't miss out on a good thing because you're paranoid and misinformed.
