| Please... nVidia fixed most of the Vista performance problems like 2-3 months ago. This is just someone trying to spin old benchmarks in their favor.
I'm not argueing that ATI doesn't have good cards but their latest series just doesn't cut it when compared to the 8000 series from nvidia. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I don't know... I think they have a point. This is one of the things that hurts PC gaming so much is all the "specs" that games have to meet. Consoles were designed to play games on standard hard ware, but these consoles are becoming more and more like PCs. Which is the opposite direction. This is why the Wii is and will continue to do so well. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "Oh well, Wii is for the non-hardcore, the kind of people who don't like to master hundreds of moves."
I don't know where you get that off at... If anything the innovative control scheme of the Wii also for many more controls that are much more fluid and easy to use than mashing massive button combos. I'll prolly check this out when I get a Wii later this year. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The problem with Vista isn't that its buggy or has a lot of problems, although 3rd party support is still lacking. The problem is that most people are satisfied with Windows XP. There's just no compelling reason to go to Vista yet. I'm sure in another 6 months to a year that may change but as of right now Vista is just extra stuff that most people don't need and don't want to take the time to learn yet. | » A little mis leading... I think yall are mis leading the information here. Yes your right they software unlocked horizontal scaler capabilities. But that only allows them to expand the image to the sides. So if they are using a game at 1280x720 then they can expand the image to 1280x1080 but not to full 1920x1080. So this isn't true 1080i. While this will make the image considerably better than 640x480, it is not a 100% fix. And as has been stated this is a software fix and will likely use more of the available system resources to compute the scaler, which means lower performance. I'm glad that Sony is fixing trying to fix the problems with the PS3 but they should have given this a little more thought. Flag this | Edit this post |

| These hard drives aren't intended for home use except in rare cases. They are intended so that servers can cram more data space in as little physical space as possible. I gaurantee you that companies with high volume servers are looking at these and smiling.
Besides why not buy 2 of these and have 2TB instead of purchasing 2 500GB drives and only hvaeing 1TB?
Anyways, just my two cents. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » The Year is 3010 Is it just me or do companies like to strut their stuff alittle at these tech demonstrations. They are most likely just going to be showing off some fast (and in intels case extreme multiprocessing) CPUs that don't have all the bells and whistles of current processors. Thats like saying ok we have an automobile that gets 300mpg but can only go straight and is to heavy to drive on any road.
It just gets a little excessive at times.
Sorry had to rant. Flag this | Edit this post |
