Personally i'd rather spend 200$ more to get universal dvd and blue-ray player instead of dvd only with an option to buy hd-dvd. Not even counting possibly better rest of hardware.
Also saving 50$ or so on online gaming in exchange for bunch of spam mails sounds like a good deal (especially since I can automatically redirect most of it with various filters to trashcan instantly).
Besides games from X-box like Kotor or Oblivion are much better on PC anyway ;)

Seriously what's the point in comparing launch titles to 2nd generation x-box games?
And unlike XBOX both PS3 and Wii will probably have a lot of titles that don't end on PC where they will look better like Oblivion did.
