| I have 6 Nintendo consoles, only one of which is recent. Every one of them still works like a charm. The only I bought from Nintendo that messed up at all were the N64 controllers. They never actually broke, but the analogs got really loose if you played on them too long.
Well... unless Nintendo made those black video game chairs everyone used to have in the 90s. Those things broke pretty much instantly over at my house. Of course, they were subjected to abuses from dozens of pre-adolescent boys, so that isn't much of a surprise. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So, people are accusing Nintendo of deliberately not making enough consoles. So freakin' what? If they don't want to escalate manufacturing costs by forcing production increases, then have at it.
If you force production increases, it is an exponential growth model, not a flat rate. This doesn't mean they have some dastardly plan to make their system coveted, it is more likely that they just want to actually make money.
If I remember correctly, the Wii is the first console system for quite a while to sell for a profit right off the bat. If they want to risk a little bit of theoretical long term demand for some up front cash flow and good PR, that is a viable business strategy, and it doesn't matter in the slightest if 10 uber-nerds get upset about it. | I think most of you who are talking bad about the protesters probably haven't seen the video. It actually was pretty gross, even from a western prospective. He was more or less trying to make out with her, albeit for comedic purposes.
She did seem to be trying to pull away, too. Not hard enough for it to seem like harassment, but it was pretty obvious that if it was a joke, she wasn't in on it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Why in the world would you say that? The first Katamari didn't even take full advantage of the PS2's capabilities. It sold incredibly well because they didn't worry too much about graphics optimization, and kept the price low. How, exactly, does that point towards the PS3?
If they keep with the themes present in previous games, a PS3 version would still probably have Wii quality visuals and a gimped Wii-mote for playing it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| yea.. for the price, these cards really need to be about 20% faster. I am highly unimpressed. We can only hope that they are just trying to catch a few early adopters before dropping the price when Ati comes to play.
I am very disappointed... I expected them to perform a lot closer to what the 8800GTS 320mb does, if obviously somewhat worse. Guess it is time wait on ATI now, and hope they don't drop the ball. Flag this | Edit this post |

| If they want to stop the shootings, our culture is going to have to learn to stop idolizing violence so much. Practically everything in our society is violent, or represents violence, from TV, to video games, to sports, to our political system.
Not to mention, we need to work on some sort of foreign policy that doesn't involve dropping bombs on mud-huts. Flag this | Edit this post |

| games for the PS2 are still being developed because it has around 10x the install base of it's nearest next-gen competitor, the XB360 (at least according to wikipedia... I don't intend to look further than that). I wouldn't expect developers to be too keen on spending an exponentially higher amount of money on development just to reach an audience 1/10 the size.
Both the XB360 and the PS3 over-shot the target, in my opinion. If they had been less worried about their own little 2 way battle, they might have realized that the mass market isn't ready for 1080p/i gaming. In their zeal to battle each other, they forgot what needed to be done to garner the support of the actual market. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'll clear something up for a few of you who think you are at the top of the food chain. You aren't. I am. Overwhelming arrogance aside, it is pretty much true.
Now what would happen if I decided to use you for fodder in my wacky, evil experiments, because you are weaker and less intelligent (statistically, these are both probably true) than I am? I don't believe that humans are inherently any more worthwhile than other animals.
Does the fact that I am intelligent and physically powerful give me the right to abuse others, like you seem to think it is okay to do with animals?
PS: Peta is psycho. That doesn't mean animals shouldn't have rights. Flag this | Edit this post |

| If anyone was curious, the original was a really great game. It is really too bad that the saturn died off as quickly as it did. It really did have some great games.
Oh well... at least I still own my copy of Dragon Force, which I still consider to be the greatest Strategy/RPGs of all time, or close to it... and apparently other people agree with me, considering what people pay for it on Ebay. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Exactly, IA was created to keep cops in line. The history of policing is far from clean, but these days, not that much really happens. The police force of today is pretty much the polar opposite of what it was 30 years ago, in the times of civil unrest.
I actually go to school for this, and I will be beginning my CJ master's degree (or public administration, not decided yet) soon, so I actually know what I am talking about. Unlike people who think they understand what the situation is because they watch a video or 2 on youtube about some asshat getting zapped for being a public nuisance in a college library.
