| | I'm sure he has. In fact I'll bet he has noticed that some of the cutscenes get millions of views and his brilliant idea runs something like this: If we ask google to remove these scenes from Youtube then these millions of people will want to pay money to see the same scenes in a movie theater. CPU voltages up to 1.9V are available in increments of 0.25V, although at the upper end of the spectrum (above 1.6V) the increments increase to 0.50V.

Shouldn't the increments be 0.025V and 0.050V instead? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | What a waste. Indeed I'm thoroughly disappointed. But on the brighter note, after months of pondering whether to build a completely new system and fill it with middle end dx10 card, it looks like an AGP x1950pro replacement for my current 6800GT is the smart way to go.. | Wow. That really is the next level in communication and also in cyber entertainment.
I bet there are sick freaks out there who would WANT to watch that kind of thing. Even for good money perhaps.. And there are always those who want to end it all..
I can smell the business venture already. All you need is a catchy URL (live.suicide.net?) and promotional campaign (Sick of your life? Why don't ya kill yourself live on our website? We'll pay you.) + (Ever seen someone die for real? No? Well now you can! We got the most gruesome suicide feeds and adding several new ones every week + links to actual news articles that cover each individual case. No hoax!)
Yeah the internet is scary sometimes. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Ah, I see.
According to the specs the X1950XT should be quite fast but since it gets nearly no publicity, I've been thinking maybe it performs rather poorly in tests. So yeah I'd be interested in a review by you guys. ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Out of curiosity: Why is Radeon X1950XT 256MB always excluded from the tests? It is in the same price class as the 7950GT cards. Or is it not sold outside of Europe?
To be more precise I'm talkin about this card:

or this one:

| impressive.
this chip would enable asking for sensible directions in rpgs. usually you get answers like: "it's in the harbour" instead of "follow this street until you see the butchers shop then turn left" or "you're standing in front of it, dude"
in the beginning it would mean double the workload for the developers though so I doubt it will catch on.. unless aiseek strikes a deal with a console maker. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Yeah the future is bright. Forget the high-end PCs, we are trying to satisfy Joe Average here. And Joe doesn't use his PC for gaming, he bought a console for that. So there's no need for PCs that could be used for gaming. Actually there's no need for PC because handheld devices are good enough for running web based applications. And who needs optical devices in the age of digital delivery? Flag this | Edit this post |

| Isn't PS2 like yesterday's news? Sure, console market moves at slower pace than PC industry, but still, donating a PS2 is like donating a Barton 2500+ with 6600GT. Anyone who wanted a PS2 probably already owns one.
360 or even PSP would have been a better choice. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think the claim about this article being more future proof from gaming perspective doesn't really hold water. The 800x600 has been the maximum resolution where CPU still matters for quite a while now. The new GPUs are going to be faster of course but the new games are going to be more demanding as well.
Hmmm.. But maybe I'm too rash.. Were there any differences between Athlon and Core 2 at 1280x1024? At 1024x768?
I would like to have even more graphs that [H] hates so much :) Flag this | Edit this post |
