| I agree with Terrak.
Another point: The weirdo 'analyst' said that the PS3 was designed to be a 2011 console. Computer parts are continously being upgraded by the minute. The PS3 would be possibly outdated by 2011.
And another thing, why wait until 2011 to get a $600 console made cheaper if you can get a $400 Xbox 360 NOW and soon a Nintendo Wii? I want my gaming fun NOW while I am still living, so I have no point waiting for a PS3 of which I don't know anything about since Sony is making it all a secret.
If your parents said you can only get 1 console, are you gonna invest blindly on a PS3 you have no idea about or an Xbox 360 that has already been playtested and you can get immediately?
Also, there haven't been many titles announced for the PS3 that we don't already have for the 360 whereas I am screaming for Halo 3. Flag this | Edit this post |

| OMG this guy is a real loser. Its a game. It will most likely be rated M or AO so little kids can't buy it. But there is many ways to get the game, just like many ways to get a playboy magazine under 18 years of age.
He should stop doing the parent's job of policing their children on what to get and what not to get and stop oppressing the game developers and gamers. There has been violence in schools before video games with teachers beating up kids. There have been shootings in schools way before GTA.
If he is so nuts about violent games, he should ban violent movies. He should also ban violent books and protest against Bush for declaring war in Iraq. Hell why not dress up as a hippy. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Microsoft's Xbox 360 will be more or less the same as the Playstation 3 seeing that the majority of people don't have a 2000-5000 dollar HDTV. Also, game developers won't go the extra mile to make their PS3 games more superior than the Xbox 360 port. Thats just leaving out potential consumers and is stupid.
Microsoft is a big computer software and internet company and their Xbox Live service shows. It is an excellent service, adding things that only computers could do with the internet and it will only get better with Live Anywhere that allows Xbox users play with Windows Vista users.
The Xbox 360 shipped sooner than the PS3, although it was rushed, it eased out in the end and most console buyers bought a 360. And for those that did, they have no reason to buy a PS3 that is 600 dollars more and will be more or less the same as the 360.
Sony is not releasing a lot of information about their future console, and that is disorientating their fans to the point that the editor of the official Playstation magazine won't get a PS3.
So far, the 360 has a ton of features, and only growing whereas the PS3 has not too much information to justify its price tag.
Not everyone has all the money in the world and people have to choose the 360 or the PS3. And the 360 is cheaper and more or less the same as the PS3 and you know what the 360 is, unlike the PS3.
Now the Nintendo Wii sounds great. 200 dollars and a great idea that makes it stand out despite its lower-end graphics compared to PS3 and 360 consoles. That feature is it's wireless motion-sensitive remotes that is the core of the gameplay. You have two and they work and are wireless. Thus you can swing one remote like a sword or lightsaber and the other like a shield.
And Nintendo is famous for its good quality games.
So in short, console buyers are probobly better off with a hardcore Xbox 360 and a casual and fun Nintendo Wii. Both amount to a Playstation 3.
Sony is really sucking this year. Their games for the PSP is unoriginal and just sucky console ports with long load times to the point that most of the time you are playing it in your home where you can get a console and play it faster and with better quality. It is also an expensive device.
Their copy-protection hell with their music CDs was a real drag. And their marketing of the PS3 is horrible. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | For the same price they ask, I can build a PC that can play at the same quality as a PS3 (excluding monitor and input device costs). PCs do more than consoles, and you might just have to buy 50 dollars worth of hardware to upgrade it, unlike paying $600 for a new console when yours get outdated. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sony is by far the worst company of the year. They sucky copy-protection on their music cds was a horror and their lack of immediate response to the isues.
The PSP is an amazing little device, sad thing is is that the only games on it are sucky remakes of the original PS2. Unlike the DS, where all the games are original and entertaining.
And now even official PS magazine dudes are passing on the PS3 due to an extremely high price tag because of many unneeded components, such as a blu-ray drive, which should be made optional. Flag this | Edit this post |

| PS3 is overly VERY powerful. Yet game developers won't really make their games for the PS3 better than those they put for other consoles and the PC, it just won't do good. Not to mention the game developers don't want to go the extra mile to make their games stand up to the max of PS3.
Blu-Ray... The cost will be so much less without blu-ray. We really don't need it.. yet. Possibly the console may excist for a very long time since it has a ton of features that are a little advanced for its time (compared to others). But with the price and sudden flaws of how Sony is managing this, people will forget it like the Sega Dreamcast.
PCs are better since they can do more than a PS3 which itself is a computer but limited to playing games and a few other things.
And the price... even if the thing is worth that much money, it certainly won't attact most people and would op for the REALLY cheap Wii and Xbox 360 which both = 1 PS3. A bad mistake on Sony's part. Only filthy rich people would buy it because they don't know what to do with their money. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I might get it just for the fact that I get to fight in my home country and some nice new units.
But only 3 maps... They would get more customers if they doubled or tripled that. Then it will be worth 9 dollars sort of. Should be free either way seeing there are better mods and all that for free. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Nothing sucks more than bloatware. You buy a brand new computer for a good deal of money only to find out that it is all covered in junk and may crash.
Dell sucks. They make crappy computers and exagerate them or make them seem as powerful because it has a popular intel processor. Flag this | Edit this post |
