» The new Xbox 360s are still failing. http://games.gearlive.com/playfeed/article/q307xbox-360-red-light-of-doom-problem/
I didn't think they fixed it. If the problem was simply cooling, it would have been solved pre-launch as cooling tests are easy to do. Also, there are too many people reporting RRODs when their systems have just been turned on. This also explains why the 3-year warranty extension covers the new systems. They wouldn't be covering the new systems if they were fixed, they'd only cover the ones sold prior to the fix.
"It's not the engine, moron, it's the artistic choices."
If it's the artists who determine the way the game looks then why is John Carmack known for his graphics programming? Shouldn't it be the artists that get the credit?
All the games using the Doom 3 engine look bad because of the way the lighting engine calculates the colors to display. This is controlled by the programmers not by the artists.
» John Carmack's an idiot. The Doom 3 engine is ugly. It can't render anything soft or organic. That's why the people look creepy and synthetic. It's too dark because the lighting engine does a poor job of representing reflected light.
If John Carmack actually was a genius he wouldn't have spent over 5 years making an engine that looks this bad.
These guys look like zombies:
