| | I don't know if I see the point of this card. By looking briefly at the benchmarks, it seems to have a very slight advantage, usually by just a few frames, except maybe for Crysis. I'm not sure if that's worth the price premium over GT. Flag this | Edit this post |

| C'mon, this game is really awesome.
It doesn't get nearly as much attention as it should. I guess it's the spec reqs, lack of sophisticated story and not enough marketing all together. Too bad, cause the game is great. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Alright, at first I got a little upset when I read "The Orange Box won for Best PC Game along with the Breakthrough Technology award" but then I read "Best Graphics went to Crytek's shooter Crysis" and I was calm again. Still not sure what's so special about the technology in there, HL2 engine is old...Portal? I dunno... Everything else seems quite right. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hm...I don't remember what it showed the first day, but right now they both say to leave a message 25 or less. If the SLI part didn't mention the 25 word message before, then by all means you were right in assuming there's no need for a message.
I don't want them to take away your prize now, just asking to be more precise on the rules, that's it :)
[EDIT] Nevertheless, I DO wish nvidia/FS said "dammit, we created confusion, everyone gets a new rig!" ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| No one from the outside really knows. There isn't (at least I haven't seen any) any real evidence that he got fired cause of the review. Who knows, maybe it really was bad timing and he got fired for internal reasons.
But I think so far the "Eidos not liking the review" makes the most sense, but note that it's also the most controviersial hence it creates the most buzz. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | The advertising is not a problem at all, it's almost invisible. Some of them I can't even make out until I come close and look carefully (save for the nvidia logo). If I didn't stop, I'd think those are just some generic posters on the walls. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm with you on that one.
I had high hopes for Hellgate, but while it's good, it didn't really cut it for me :( I had a feeling it won't even before premiere, just cause of the guns and technology...I mean they're fun, but I still prefer the fantasy Diablo world.
Might get it though, depending on how the bug situation goes and how the community grows. Beta was quite fun, but there were really messed up things. It didn't really crush for me (yeah, I was surprised, people seemed to complain a lot about this), but what pissed me the most were horrible issues with multiplayer synchronization (for the lack of better word). For example, I'd be in a party of 3, and I could see one guy, but not the other. And I don't even know if it was just invisibility or something more, cause sometimes his presence wouldn't even manifest itself via the environment (killing monsters, bashing boxes etc).
Another time I was palying with a guy, we entered an area, and after a while I see him 200m up in the air, shooting at a wall, for like 5 minutes. ???
And then there is (was, cause apparently the fixed it) the stuckage and random teleportations around a level.
The game certainly lacks the Blizzard polish, but it's a fun game nevertheless and should be more fun after the issues fixed.
Whewh, totally went off-topic here. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "Even though the merger gives Blizzard more of an inroad into the console market, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime stated that there currently are no plans for Blizzard to enter the console space, saying they are concentrating on the PC platform."
And thank you for that, Blizzard. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Wow, I gotta admit that when I read this, I was a little shocked.
So let me get it straight - an honest and long-time game reviewer gives his honest opinion about a game (which agrees with a lot of other reviews). The game creator gets pissed off and threatens to take away its money from GameSpot. Authorities at GameSpot want to keep their money so they fire the guy.
What the hell???! If that's true, then this is totally retarded. Maybe GameSpot asked him to change the score and he disagreed? In which case, full respect for him.
I visit GameSpot daily and I like their site, as well as their reviews. Despite being a very popular site, their reviews seem to be quite honest and trustworthy. I watched that Kane and Lynch video review just a few days ago and it seemed like a very good review.
Bah...this sucks. Flag this | Edit this post |

| No. In fact, you can damage parts of your brain and it would have no or very minor effect on you. It really depends on which area you damage, some affect memory, others sight, yet others personality. There was an interesting story in my psych book about a guy who had a similar accident to a kid in this article. A pole went through his brain, and the guy was fine except that...his personality changed. He became like a different person.
It's interesting stuff. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | What, didn't like EaW? I haven't played the game extensively nor have I passed the campaigns, but from what I've played it was a great game! The battles seemed pretty fast and interesting and the galactic view was a nice idea. Flag this | Edit this post |
