| This is incredible.
Here's the list of games that these guys copied DIRECTLY from:
Vampire: Bloodlines
Diablo 2(Wall of the lidless artwork copied, border artwork)
Oblivion(multiple backgrounds copied and pasted)
Pirates of the Caribean(trailer stole some movie scenes, notably ship scene)
Black and White 2(stole the "good god" hand icon)
Unreal Tournament 2(train scene)
Rune(demon speaking audio directly ripped)
Painkiller(catacombs 3rd level scene)
Return to Castle Wolfenstein(1st map rip)
Lord of the Rings soundtrack(for background audio, to be confirmed)
World of Warcraft(Patch 2.10 border artwork advert copied)
Hexen(audio portions copied, to be confirmed)
LOTR: BFME(menu artwork copied)
This is only the tip of the iceberg. It's one thing to take existing ideas and evolve them into your own. Hitting the Print-Screen button and not even bothering to alter, or very minimally alter someone else's artwork is blatant robbery.
There's bound to be more...stay tuned.... Flag this | Edit this post |

| AoC is a PvP game, so hardcore PvP'ers will love it. But the question is:
Will it lure away WoW arena players? Especially when you can earn 6 figures from winning WoW arena tourneys? Will AoC be able to offer that kind of prize money? Flag this | Edit this post |

| Let's not forget another thing as well about the PETA.
When you take a look at these PETA protesters, how many prominent members do you see amongst them? Do you see any celebs, people of influence, and other well known faces? Any CEOs of large companies who actually have the power to do something? You don't.
Instead you see these raggedy bums and people who look like they're been plucked off the street and being fed by PETA...as long as they serve as sacrificial lambs for the shock value tactics that PETA is known for. If you were a beggar, approached by PETA to do this or that, and in return you'll be fed, given some basic $$$...hey man sounds like a deal doesn't it? It's similar to giving food to starving people - so long as they attend Church. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Skin grafts are being grown already. Is muscle tissue so far behind? But having said that...
The guy above said it better than I.
With everyone going nuts over "organic" stuff, who the hell is gonna go for genetic engineered meet(assuming we're not already eating it, right).
But it's a tough sell to people to knowingly eat man-made meat. Meat that was never alive, but grown from a test tube. Who's to say the meat didn't have some some of consciousness and by cutting off its life source of nutrient tube, you're "killing" it?
Aye, 1 mil is mere drop in the bucket. Come on PETA that's just embarrassing. If you can convince people to chain themselves to boats and trees, you can come up with something better than 1 mil, ESPECIALLY as a reward for the first guy to grow meat in a test tube. Flag this | Edit this post |

| He's acting ungrateful about it. When you get something, you appreciate it - don't jinx the situation by turning all negative about it.
He got more than he bargained for, he should have said Thank you, and then just shut up and don't say any more about it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sorry Peter, but it's true: you haven't come out with any hits of late. Any of you guys remember that top-secret game he was working on last? Something along the lines of it having the most "killer" AI? I vaguely remember something along those lines, but it never emerged to see the light of day.
Molyneux's just bitter that he, along with Richard Garriot, are just among the many so-called "big name" people who have been beaten by The Sims and WoW. You could see that as whining or complaining, but one thing's for certain: There's a lot be learned from what these two games DID RIGHT.
Black and White...sure it was cute, but nobody I knew played it. It got relegated to bargain bin status real fast - you saw it right there in EB Games. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Tough sh** cliffb.
You should be learning from games like WoW, not deriding them because they have millions more players than the games that you will ever have a hand in cranking out. That's the way the industry's headed.
Don't ever forget that, if it weren't for games, you wouldn't even have a career as a dev. Flag this | Edit this post |

| You said it better than I, and it's true.
How can, when you're talking to a *journalist*, that ANYTHING you tell him be "off the record"? That's like trusting a thief with your wallet. Come on, think. The guy makes a living off of news. News that YOU tell him.
This ain't like that movie with Al Pacino where he yells at Russell Crowe "Think! I'm a journalist! Why would I screw you?!" Sorry man - anything you tell them, that's it. George you should know better than that. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah the WMP11 must be caling some libaries or functions in common with WoW.
But still it really doesn't matter. WoW doesn't take THAT long to load up. Save like oh, a few seconds of load time? You'd spend that same amount of time loading up bloated WMP11 anyways. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The few of you who bash WoW are completely eclipsed by 9 million others who "get it".
MMORPGS period aren't for you if that's the case. It's just stupid to go bashing a sports game for example when you KNOW it ain't your cup of tea. How is WoW any different than that? Just because it happens to be the biggest kid on the block sure makes it fashionable to knock on it eh? Flag this | Edit this post |

| It always sounds bad when a company dismisses all it's people, but then again, are we really seeing the whole story here? Maybe all of them were contractors, and since the game's done(?) they are not needed anymore.
Just a guess here. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Why the hell did they do that?
Sorry but I think it's a terrible move. What, if Bioware cranks out a so-so title, EA's gonna come down and clamp down hard on creativity? Maybe enough ax Bioware completely? We all know how the best games in the world are done "when they're done". Sometimes no matter how hard and how many hours you put into a game, no one's interested, and you can't help that sometimes. | | If the ads are non-obtrusive, eg. They don't get in the way of gameplay or force you to stare at something without you having any choice about it, then I'll take the ads because I won't even notice them. But if they fill the loading screens with adverts and/or find some way to force the player to "use" said product or they'll die - that may be taking things a little too far.
