| » Only when I can afford to... Alas, there is no option there to really fit me.
I'd love to upgrade, but this pesky thing called real life keeps conspiring to empty my rainy-day fund before I can accumulate the $360 (actually $450 now thx to the Thailand flood-induced HDD shortage) to step up from the AthlonXP 3000+ system, with the AGP 7600GS, that I currently have.
I curse new roofs, termites, broken water pipes, broken furnaces, leaking air-conditioners, and leaking water heaters, along with ever rising bills for gas, electricity, broadband, and health insurance. They all conspire against me, I tell you! Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think some PR-speak translation is required. It sounds like they found out that tying their games to their delivery service resulted in fewer of their games sold. They couldn't unbundle their games from their service, since it would be in direct competition with their own service.
If their game service was so profitable, I think they would have had the resources to hire a dedicated staff to run the services while they concentrated on their games, which makes me think the service was just squeaking by. It was probably only just squeaking by because of their own games, which is why they couldn't unbundle their games from their service.
Anyhow this is my "facts from the buttocks" analysis of what they actually meant! ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| I only played the original Serious Sam, and the SE demo.
I do agree that the hords coming at you were truly awe-inspiring, and these videos don't hold a candle to that.
I have felt for a long time that modern graphics are pretty much overkill, and take away from the gameplay development, to the point that I sometimes have more fun playing games like Recettear, where losing means you actually LOSE something, and where winning isn't something that will certainly happen as long as you don't make a stupid mistake. | Wow. That new video was impressive in the latter half. At first I thought it was going to be another "pretty, but enemies are only in small groups", but then the first wave of bombers came! WaHOO!
Edit: And what happened to my avatar? It's now a broken image holder... Flag this | Edit this post |

| It's too bad though. If you got this service along with a game you bought, it would have been called the Krundle Bundle! :)
Once again, I am left without a means to get my Cold-War era unexploded ordinance. How will I get by... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Please no! I do NOT want to see him wearing short-shorts! My eyes bleed, just thinking about it!!
I do wish they'd FINISH Half Life, though. Leaving us hanging is annoying. Hopefully the long delay merely signals another engine is being built... Flag this | Edit this post |

| » Why I deserve Portal 2 ...
. . .
I guess I don't, really. ;)
Good luck moving what remains on the list. I think if anyone has any of the items left, then they have all the rest as well, by default, except for Episode 1 and 2, which I will only be interested in when they finally get around to FINISHING the episodes...
Good luck, Lord Orion's Daughter! Flag this | Edit this post |

| There's the added unintended consequence of causing folks to totally burn out on any indie game at all, after being forced to grind through games they may not even like, in an attempt to get Portal 2 released sooner.
Edit: And it was all useless anyway. Console folks have already bought it from Gamestop and are already playing it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| When I read "game within a game", I immediately thought of the mod that let you play old Doom on the console in cafeteria, in the new Doom game, or the card games in the Final Fantasy series!
I was a bit disappointed in the actual article as a result! (insert smiley face here) I really don't have problems with the sellers trying to make their product more enjoyable for the sell-ees, and having different ways to have fun in a complex game (Recettear anyone?) is just simple common sense, in my less-than-profound opinion...
