| | Concerning your comment on the launch titles, I don't think this will really affect PS3. It's not much different from the Xbox 360 launch; Microsoft had four exclusives (COD2, Kameo, DOA4, and PD:Z) compared to Sony's three (Resistance, Untold Legends, and Ridge Racer). Also, Wii's launch doesn't have any real exclusives either besides Red Steel, Wii Sports, and Tony Hawk. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "What would the price be if there was no BluRay? Would it be much cheaper than the 360? I think that's the way Sony should have went, then simply add on a BluRay player for those that want it like Microsoft has done."
I see what you're saying, but I'm also hearing that maybe Sony did it right actually, because the Blu-Ray player is streamlined into the PS3, whereas the HD-DVD add-on for the X360 is more cumbersome in comparison, as it is supposed to be a bit bulky, and has to use a separate power outlet (not powered through the X360). Also, I've heard that the included remote has trouble working with the X360. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Agreed with LORD ORION. This is like comparing the opening battle scene of Saving Private Ryan with the driving/racing scene of Mission: Impossible II to see which one draws a larger emotional response. Of course I'm experiencing an "emotional high" (as CNN puts it): It's what WWII games and movies like these are designed to do, and I'm sure as hell not going to go shoot someone after playing/watching the game/movie. | | I don't know about whether the PC version was that different from the Xbox 360 one, but my friend has the X360 version, and the AI is most definitely something that needs to be improved. (Actually, I think the PC version already has a patch that improves it...) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | A good analysis, and one that I can accept, after reading. In answer to Cool.DK, the console is getting plenty of the publicity Mismash is talking about as well as the negative PR. And don't forget, controversy breeds sales. I suppose it's possible that people will regard the crimes occuring over PS3 and decide that it must be one hell of a system to warrant such crimes. I don't know, just speculation. Flag this | Edit this post |

| That was back in Gearbox's earlier days, I think, before they started getting up and going big-time with Brothers in Arms. Also, since then, it's gotten a whole lot better. I've been playing multiplayer on Halo PC for a long time without any problems whatsoever, and my friend has been playing even longer.
Many console to PC ports do just fine: It just depends, as with any game, port or not, on how committed the developer is to making sure the game works. It doesn't hurt to be familiar with making quality products on the PC. Epic sure knows how to work with the PC, and my experience with them so far is that they give their games a lot of attention and commitment. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | It doesn't seem, from these screenshots, that Halo 3 currently looks that much better than Halo 2. I'm giving Bungie the benefit of doubt, since it's early enough in development for this level of graphical quality. Some things, like the Warthog, the big laser thing, the bloodstains, and the lasers in the last screenshot, look really good, but a lot of the rest look like merely minor improvements over the same or similar stuff in Halo 2. | | I'm in agreement with 790atWork about the price point. When you compare the most similar of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 configurations (the X360 premium and PS3 basic), you come out with a price difference of only one hundred dollars. (It could be a difference the other way as well, with the X360 costing one hundred dollars more, if you buy a HD-DVD add-on for your X360.) A difference of one hundred dollars either way will not (should not, at least) in itself turn off potential consumers with jobs. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "Q. Why isn't PS3 shipping with HDMI cables?
A. It has HDMI ports!"
A more appropriate sum of the response would be, "We never said there wouldn't be HDMI cables. Stop making assumptions."
"Here is the translation for the last answer: We are very excited with the launch date only about a month away. Our launch ######le line-up is rather short right now and less than stellar. To keep intrest strong in the PS3, we will be releasing the list two days before launch day."
Less than stellar my ass. Five exclusives worth playing (Resistance: Fall of Man, Warhawk, Devil May Cry 4, Full Auto 2, and Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom), three of them (Resistance, Warhawk, and DMC4) must-haves. Not to mention nearly all of the great games coming out on the X360 during the same time period (excluding Gears of War) are also coming to PS3.
If you ask me, it sounds a lot better than the X360, where the only exclusives worth playing at launch were Call of Duty 2 (and this can be considered exclusive only if you don't count the PC version), Kameo, and Perfect Dark Zero. Not to mention that all of the X360 games at launch looked more like current-gen games than they did next-gen. Flag this | Edit this post |

| "How about they give it to a non-partisan group?"
PSM is a non-partisan group...They're not the only ones to have previewed PS3 and have come to same conclusion about it. Factor5, the developers of Rogue Squadron (a Nintendo exclusive game, by the way), have said similar things about the system.
Why don't more people give PS3 a chance? It's got a steep price tag, sure, but it's also got a lot of great crap for that price, some fantastic launch games, and even better games in its future.
By the way, this poster is a huge fan of Xbox, Nintendo, Sony, and the PC, (read: I like all the systems pretty much equally), so don't worry about partisan bull---t from me. Flag this | Edit this post |
