| Well, this guy is obviously testing waters. But, it would be quite the marketing decision. I would have thought that demos create hype, a plus, and allow for testing out one's hardware and get a good feel for game play.
This CEO is like many others: dreaming up new ways of cutting costs. With this title poised for a big success, all the hype that is already surrounding it, all the excitement and a big fan base, is it necessary to make a demo?
And if I'm not mistaken, they've got a nice marketing campaign so far.
His comments are not a bad move. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I found an open movie (like open source, but movie) to test HD video to see what difference it makes. It helps that I have a 1920x1200 screen. The video is called Elephants Dream and available for HD download. The 11 minutes weigh in at over 800 MB, and you need a different player than the usual Media Player.
Now I get it. But I can't speak for how weird this movie is. I'm still a bit freaked out. Link: http://www.elephantsdream.org Flag this | Edit this post |

| | A great article by the way. It's a great way of taking a "snapshot" of current hardware, and a good starting point for upgrading. I like to handpick my parts whilst considering desired result and budget, and this provides a marvelous basis to work with. Flag this | Edit this post |

| You can clearly see the difference on static images. But when images are in motion, I still wonder at how different it looks. I wonder if it might have been possible to put together an animated gif (or other format) of portions of the screen to better illustrate this.
One thing's for sure: when things move, even stills are blurred. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm sure Kessandra meant Vista, and I agree. I'd wait until the DX10 and Vista dust settles - too much controversy, and I'm curious to see how AMD will fare with time.
For my part, I'd have liked a 750$ suggestion. Let's face it: for us little people, 250$ is a lot of money. Flag this | Edit this post |
