What kind of bullshit do you judge a leader by? Use of the English language? Screw that. I want somebody who can lead. I don't want a f*cking politician, I want someone who can judge situations and f*cking fix them, not drone on for hours about how the other candidate can't or how the previous administration screwed up so bad that there's nothing you can do.

Sam: everything is for free for a pirate. If there is a will there is a way.

Wow, look who's talking. You sound exactly like that jackass at Ubisoft: all PC gamers are criminals.

If you bothered reading my post I made it clear: IT IS EASY TO PIRATE. You can pirate a 360 game, you can pirate a PC game, you can pirate a game with an ungodly amount of DRM or none at all and you're still downloading it. If you're too fucking cheap to buy the god damn game and support the developers and industry then you aren't a customer and you didn't make the company lose sales, but rather you simply committed a crime.

Piracy does affect sales in the form of DRM. A lot of people refused to buy StarForce or SecuROM laden games just because they are intrusive programs with a false sense of stopping piracy. You can't stop piracy. You can't discourage piracy. It's going to happen sooner or later.

People forget that there is an enormous amount of legitimate, law-abiding customers that will gladly give their money for a good product. Developers blame poor sales on a horrible product on piracy, even though it was utter shit and no law-abiding customer would bother wasting money for it. But because the pirates don't have to waste money they can just download it and check it out. This is why many people claim piracy is the source of their woes.

Like I said, many Stardock and Relic games with 0 DRM sold very well even though it was as easy as a single click to get it for free. Why? Because they made excellent games that attracted legitimate customers. They were still pirated but those are the pirates that pirate absolutely everything. They don't care if it's shit or gold, they don't care if you spent years on it or if it has DRM or none, they will pirate it regardless. Because of this, they are not your customers. They are not part of your market. They are people to be ignored. The 1 million people that immediately bought Spore and the millions of others that bought many games are the people that you need to focus on.

Search it up on Google: "Spore 1 million sales" and "Spore piracy" and there should be an article mentioning both and how piracy truly has no impact on sales.

In any case you are very wrong in that statement. Criminals are criminals, plain and simple. You can't say that you lost sales because of a shoplifter or a Chinese rip-off company because the only people those attract are criminals. Pirates are criminals. Criminals isn't the market you are wanting to sell your game in. You want to market your game to the people that will buy it and EA did just that. From there they got over a million sales in barely their first month.

How about some non-DRM titles that could be really quickly and easily pirated? Galactic Civilizations? Sins of a Solar Empire? Company of Heroes? They all sold like crazy. Yes, they were all pirated but they didn't lose sales over it because the only sales you get are from the people that legitimately bought it.

Pirates are pirates. They will pirate your game regardless if it's on a console or on a PC. They will pirate it regardless if you have an amazing amount of DRM (Spore) or none (UT3). They won't buy your game just because they are cheap. And because they won't buy your game you won't get a customer out of them, regardless if they pirate it or not.

Hey bitches: Spore sold over a million in its first month. It was also pirated over a million in its first month in several torrents. But it's still selling good and EA is making a ton of money out of it. Piracy has no correlation to sales. You can't say you're losing customers if they never were your customers to begin with.

This guy's comments are so asinine I nearly choked. He's basically saying that every PC gamer is a criminal.

My isn't the intelligence just dripping from your post? You sound like a 12 year old hitting puberty: full of sarcasm but little understanding.

If you actually read the goddamn article it talks about the f*cking DS, not the Wii. And no shit that it is a logical progression, I mentioned that in the beginning in reply to the news poster that rambled on how Nintendo tried to abstain from adding any sort of "entertainment" bloat to their DS, not you.

But of course arguing on the Internet with an idiot is akin to rolling a stone up a steep cliff only to see it roll back down.

So who else is he going to vote for besides McCain/Palin? Ralph Nader? Come now.

I really couldn't care about Republicans or Democrats, I see both political parties as being nothing more than political parties and not organizations intending to push the best this country deserves. That's why I'm an Independent, but a conservative one.

In any case you are only saying that of Roosevelt because he was an extremely successful president. But before that ever happened everyone criticized him the same as Palin. "You're too young, you're too inexperienced, you're a gun-totting cowboy (hockey mom in her case), and you're a heartbeat away from presidency."

I find that both parties nowadays really don't have a clue about what they want and both candidates are big-time losers. I see the VP-nominees as better candidates than the actual presidential ones. Ron Paul should've ran regardless. =/

Continue to hide behind your silly anonymous shroud whilst you spew forth stupidity, Mr Anonymous. I mentioned Obama because the poster mentioned his dislike of McCain and Palin and how he can't vote for them. And yes, I think I am clearly comparing what may become of Palin as what had happened to Roosevelt.

Roosevelt was not a full-fledged liberal such as a typical present-day Democrat, he was still a Republican but a Republican with a few more centrist views than his contemporaries. Palin was a mayor and a governor (same length as Roosevelt) and though lacks the military experience that Roosevelt has I am certain McCain can more than make up for it in that aspect. Sure Palin doesn't have the amazing education that some other candidates have but that is besides the point. The point is whether Palin can lead or not and she has clearly demonstrated this in Alaska and I am eager to see what she can accomplish as vice president and possibly as president.

For your information I can't listen to Rush Limbaugh where I live and even if I could I would much rather drive my car off a pier.

Newsflash, dickhead: Nintendo is a bloody corporation. They're greedy by default. If you bothered to read the news post and my post and realize what the context was you could've spared yourself from such an asinine statement.

I was saying simply that Nintendo isn't focusing on keeping to what they say (not integrating "entertainment" features to their products and instead focus on one thing: gaming) and how they had a change of heart and decided to put a camera and MP3 functionality on their next DS iteration. I stated that Nintendo is out for the money and if they think adding entertainment features regardless of what they've said in the past will make them money then they'll go all over it.

Oh God please spare me the Obama BS. He is absolutely no different from McCain only that one has liberal views and the other has conservative views. They both whine and complain and criticize the other with BS lies, they both claim to not use the same "old politics" of the past and talk-straight yet spam our airwaves with TV ads full of endorsements and crap about the other candidate...

One stands for change and the other stands for a myriad of changing views yet neither specifies exactly what the f*ck they want to do, only that one isn't qualified than the other.

And what exactly qualifies somebody to become president or vice-president? What unwritten prerequisites are there beyond the official ones? McCain is not "too old." Many people live beyond his current age of 72 and so far he is healthy and fit enough to become president. If he drops dead like other presidents before him, be it of assassination or illness, Palin definitely has what it takes to run the world USA. Let me show you a proper analogy: Theodore Roosevelt.

Teddy was of a similar age, similar political experience (2 years of being governor of NY) and was criticized equally for not having any experience and being a cowboy. When McKinley was assassinated and Roosevelt took over he was remembered as one of the best presidents in American history.

Just about every great American president we've had started out as a nobody with no higher political experience or previous positions of power, and yet they are all remembered as founding fathers and simply the best.

What many forget is that we need a leader, not a politician. Unfortunately, neither McCain nor Obama show that they are good leaders, just good politicians. I'll agree that these are tough times but Obama will definitely not hold our hands through them and will definitely not solve our problems, just further inflame them. I'm not saying McCain is any better, but there's hope with inexperienced Palin who has done so much good for Alaska.

From a purely analytical point of view where you by default assume every human is a rational thinking being the short answer is no. But in this world of fanboys, men and women that fall to the influences of advertisements and hype and people that will simply buy it because it's new then Nintendo will definitely see an increase in sales... Or the same amount of really-high sales that the previous DS Lite has.

Yeah, a lot of Sony execs have been saying that over the years. But it sounds like this time around it will be much more cheap to produce. If so, maybe this could save Sony's console business and prevent Microsoft and Nintendo from being the only two consoles on the market?

Hey morons: Spore sold a million copies a few weeks ago. Spore is a PC exclusive. Spore also happened to be the most pirated thing on the Pirate Bay for weeks, beating movies, music and more. It was also the most pirated game on several other torrent websites, achieving 500,000 downloads since launch on one website alone.

Did the DRM stop the pirates? No. Did the pirates affect sales? No. The pirates will always be pirates, period. You cannot factor people that will never buy your game to say that they affected sales, because they didn't. There are enough legitimate customers in this world that won't go online and download a game. Galactic Civilizations II and Sins of a Solar Empire, both without any form of DRM sold well. So did Relic's Company of Heroes which shipped without DRM.

Piracy isn't killing the PC games industry. It's developers that can't recognize that fighting piracy is futile and that by fighting piracy you are discouraging legitimate customers from buying your game. I am certain that if Spore dropped its DRM, all the 1-star ratings on Amazon.com and other websites along with the enormous amount of people boycotting the game wouldn't be doing so and Spore would have easily hit 2 million sales.

Fact of the matter is Gears came to the PC way to late, came with the shit-tastic Games for Windows Live, had some bad bugs and poor optimizations and was stuck competing with many other great (or better) FPS's.

CliffyB was bought out by Microsoft long ago. It's time to realize that it's not Cliffy speaking but rather some Microsoft higher-up speaking through him. Ignore his foolish comments that "Anyone who's smart enough to pick out a good PC will go on the Internet and rob us".

Nintendo is out for the money, man. They don't care if a few days ago they said that they will be focusing only on one thing. If it makes them a few bucks they'll pounce all over it like a hyena.

It isn't an impressive price/performance advantage anymore. HD 4870s and GTX 260s go for the same price and with similar performance, now.

This is a nice idea. I see Google catering to the independent/casual crowd with some great games here and there like Stardock. More competition besides the usual Microsoft, EA, Activision-Blizzard, 2K and Ubisoft is good regardless of who it is.

Well seeing as though probably a majority of Ensemble will be making a new studio, will continue supporting Halo Wars and doing several Microsoft games it sounds like a reorganization than a shut down.
