| There is so much on the culture of video gaming that I can make an entire encyclopedia-sized book on it, so I only put in a few terms and things. Like the introduction states, the gaming culture, like other vast cultures, contains many sub-cultures that came from individual games, genres, clans, communities, etc.
To let you know, for the "Slang and Terminology" section, it is devoted to slang derived from gaming and is not to be confused with Internet slang, which consists of all the abbreviations like lol and rofl and more.
Also please be aware that any terms related to computers or actual video game consoles have been left out because this is about gaming.
This blog entry is also more an informative article than the portraying of one's emotions or thoughts.
I put forth a lot of time and effort on this and I hope you enjoyed and I'd appreciate any and all criticism and comments. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The Rift Generator is something I remember playing in Dark Reign: The Future of War (1997 RTS from Auran/Activision). 'Twas tons of fun.
Can't wait! All the awesome superweapons, awesome graphics, and my nostalgia for C&C. xD
But GDI seems rather pathetic compared to the awesomeness of the Nod and Scrin. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Too true. Too true. But Oblivion was still fun in many moments. I did shell out 100 hours to just play the entirety of the game. But I just got so bored of the generic dungeons. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Hehe, I love Blood Elves. I just about abandoned my lvl 65 tauren hunter (except for when I use her for twinking). But I am not a goth teen girl. =) Everyone in my workplace just plays WoW, thought I'd give it a try and now I am hooked. ^_^ Flag this | Edit this post |

| | It read like a novel. It was very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I personally agree, even though a lot has changed in WoW since the supposed time of this article. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Don't buy an operating system the minute it comes out. Thats just dumb. You need to give it time whilst everyone adjusts, everyone gets their drivers, etc.
I would wait a year before getting Vista, so the price of DirectX10 video cards will come down, DX10 becomes more popular and you can get a computer upgrade to run all the unnecessary bloat-ware that Vista offers. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Wow... thats the biggest reply to something that I have ever seen. I didn't say that you implied that I was a dumby. I said I was a dumby, because I am. =)
But please don't rant on and on. Don't make such a big fuss about it. =)
Yes, I have seen the footage, and it looks obviously pre-rendered, I did not argue that point. I just said that when you said that you can %99 of the time tell its CGI, you used the wrong term. Its Pre-rendered images and not CGI. And that not all CGI can be told if it is the real deal or not. But thats a small thing that we shouldn't make a big deal of.
And I just put the Wii note as a side-note. I did not imply you are stupid or anything. Take a break. =)
And don't bother with Pirates 2. It wasn't as great as the original. Johnny Depp still did a great job.
You should try that FS Editor's contest, I think you would do great in it. =) Or better yet, a judge.

| Well, for dumbies like me, you can use the CORRECT term of "Pre-Rendered" instead of CGI. And I didn't think your post was completely clear. But thats just me. And I am pretty certain my post was %100 relevant to YOUR post. I already posted about the article. Now I am REPLYING to your comment and focusing on what you said.
No need to make such a humongous big deal out of it.
My 5 euros,

| Actually, CGI is coming to a point where it is getting increasingly difficult to distinguish it from real life. I thought the CGI effects in movies like Pirates of the Caribbean II: Dead Man's Chest was very well made and it was hard to see (besides from common sense) what was real and what wasn't.
And all computer gaming visuals are computer generated images (CGI). Crysis is CGI. WoW is CGI. C&C Red Alert 2 is CGI (even if it isn't 3D).
And remember, as seen with the Wii, it isn't all about graphics. Flag this | Edit this post |
