Excellent review. Yeah you were really talking fast however that's a benefit with video. You can rewind and play it again to digest everything said. Plus it makes file size smaller the faster you go through it. With you talking so fast my guess is your goal was filesize. Definite 10 in my book. I'd never seen Company of Heros before and now it's looks very appealing. I might even buy it. Thanks for the great video review.

Well thanks for the constructive criticism. I guess your major problem with the article is the title so I've changed it to something a little more generic.

There was no hell in Doom The Movie. How can you make a movie based on Doom without hell. Makes no sense and I hated it because they changed the best part about the entire game. The part which would have made the movie 10x more money and would have been 10x more enjoyable to watch. Great article. Got a 10 from me.

You forgot the operating system. Since we are talking about "PC" gamers and not "Linux" gamers how about tacking on another $300 for Vista. Nope I'd still have to say consoles in general are way cheaper however they aren't even close to being as powerful. You can do so much more with a PC than a console will ever be able to do. Otherwise it would stop being a console and would be a PC. PC's are more expensive because they are better especially for gaming. I can't wait to play against some xbox gamepad players on live with my keyboard and mouse. Once they start getting completely dominated they won't want to play with PC's anymore and perhaps realize that the PC is indeed the superior gaming platform.

I completely agree with you. Most FPS gamers would. Quake 4 did not deliver the goods. It's sent most of us looking for another game or giving ourselves a self-imposed timeout until something good comes along. Everything does seem like the same Quake/Halflife game with different textures or weapons. The difference between FPS games is minimal and the innovation non-existent. Yet, oddly enough as you pointed out... we are required to upgrade to expensive components to play the new (yet same looking games) adequately. Where are the id's of today? That's what I'm crossing my fingers for.

» wii is it
If you can't relate to todays gamers then why write an article for a contest where the prize is to do just that? I enjoyed the article though it was a slow read and the title is innocuous. The point about wii bringing back the feelings of what games first gave the world is a good one to make. Wii has done it unequivocally. Your point is well understood and relished by gamers everywhere. Thank Nintendo for doing again. I think Nintendo is the most consistent for giving the world that feeling. I gave you a 10 because the article has a positive message and unfortunately that is something hard to come by these days.

» bawls only
Should have stuck with a bawls only article. The UT update had little to do with the main topic and no relevant data was associated with the UT tidbit.

As for the bawls article though I don't drink it I found it interesting. I now know that I can get it at target and what some of the nutritional components are. Your opinions about the difference in taste due to being canned were good. That part was more from the perspective of a bawls connoisseur and showed your high level of love and appreciation of the product. I enjoyed the article and gave it a 9. Although bawls is associated with gaming it is now in target and has ceased to become a specialty product. Now it's right there with red bull and should no longer get gaming article coverage.

» There will ALWAYS be WWII games.
I enjoyed the article. So much that I gave it a 10. There are of course many things that I would change but the main thing being the title. It's two questions. One of which shouldn't have a question mark and the other has such an obvious answer that it almost screams stupidity on your part for asking it.

If you want to do an article on saturation a better genre to look at would be sports games...specifically the ones created by EA. Regardless, I gave you a 10 because it was thought provoking and a good subject to touch on for any genre regardless of how many games are released.

Ask yourself this; after Hexen came out do you think people were posing the same question about the shooter genre. It's plausible. Did they stop making them? No. The simple fact of the matter is that as long as there are people buying the games there are going to be MORE of a single genre than others not less. The fact that there have been so many WWII games released means it's a very healthy bet economically for the developers and publishers.

» different
This was a personal story which most times I shy away from reading but for some reason I was also sucked into this article. Perhaps it's because you were a student at guildhall which I see web banners for just about everywhere I go. Seeing as how you have an inside perspective in a game related school/field it was interesting. I gave you an 8 because it wasn't really related to anything purely game related. It's still a personal story and something that I could read in one of a number of web forums.

» Frontalot Sucks
I've heard his stuff and it really sucks. Frontalot deserves no fame and having an article dedicated to him is doing a real disservice to real music producers the world over. I give him respect for trying to promote a genre of music that geeks can enjoy but that's about it. The term nerdcore is about illogical as it gets. Anything "core" pertains to the term "hardcore". And this style of music is about as soft as it gets. It's simply rapping about things geeks can relate to. Nothing more, nothing less. Call it Geek Rap or Geek Hop if you would like but trying to term a phrase for something it's not is illogical and illogical things go against the grain of the geek culture. Frontalot has very little to offer musically other than putting a few technological terms inside a hollow shell of a technically stunted song. If you would like to hear some real gaming music check out LegendaryGamers.net That's real culture there and that's not frontin'.
