| | So, rrr66, and f3m4: do you come to this website very much? Do you, uh, like computers? Planning to stick around a while? You don't, by chance, know Dave personally, do you? :) Funny stuff. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Well, the voting really doesn't determine the winner, this far into the contest. It is now pretty much up to the judges. Not to say that I wasn't thrilled to get '1' and '2' ratings on my articles either, of course. The voting system was flawed IMHO, for sure, (and not to mention the necessitate of getting like 35 of your closest acquaintances to vote for you was a bit tedious) but in the big picture, I guess it doesn't matter too much. And both of these dudes have been writing solid articles -- you can't deny that. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Thanks guys. And yeah, some editing could have improved the article, for sure. I submitted the my work pretty close to the deadline, and then somehow my initial edits were lost in a firefox fiasco, and then I ran out of time, so, yeah, now when I read it I cringe. Oh well. For what is probably my last article of the sort, I'm pretty happy with it. Thanks again... Flag this | Edit this post |

| I find surprising and illogical that many think that violence comes from all the violent imagery of TV and games and such. I think this view is backwards...all the violence in games and TV and movies is a reflection of our societal values.
Another important thing that many don't realize: if you don't buy into the 60 second news-stories you often hear, and if you actually look at the stats for youth violence, you would see that violent crimes and gun murders have gone down a lot in the last decade. Violent crime (for youths anyways) peaked in 92-93, and since then, has being going down. And I don't think they blamed video-game violence in the late 80's on the very high youth murder rates, but if they did, that would have been just as dumb as blaming it today. | | Don't blame Mr. Phil too much. It is just the imperative of the tv talk-show medium that he has to come up with some sort of angle, no matter how flimsy, that can be dealt with in 44 minutes. His show would not be successful if he was just like: "Well, viewers, it is sad that so many people died yesterday. Unfortunately, some people get upset and kill people, because they are crazy. Their really isn't any reason behind it, and their is not much we can do. Life is just like that..." Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Ya, all along I sort of thought the voting too susceptible to unscrupulous tactics... I sort of thought the final rounds should be judged by the FS staff only. But, on the other hand, I can see that involving the readership is a very positive thing... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Thanks for the criticisms'n'feedback, Trogdor -- glad you could take time out of your busy day burning all the peasants (I think/hope that is the correct internet meme reference to make -- right, uhmm...Strong Bad? )
Ya -- I don't have any extra AMD systems kickin' about, so that was not an option for me. Likewise with the GPU -- like probably most of the people out there, I am a mere mortal with only 1 decent GPU at one time. And you know, this was just a focus look at one cpu, so the cpu speeds on the graphs are relative to another, showing the different performance of just the cpu (not the whole system), so while I think it would be nice with more GPU's and CPU's as reference, I do not think it is super-vital to the whole sha-blooie I was trying to write up here. | | Well, I'd say daugwok and Bucnews are looking stronger than He-Man and Skelator right now with their early-done, well-done double advantage. Judging is going to be tough! Oh yeah: everybody vote for me please :) ! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | THanks man! Hey I got to check out your new video, btw... Ya, I'd never really crank the voltage on my #1 CPU too high, but my old cpu? Sure -- give'er! Thing is worth about 25 bucks now anyways (I just sold it for 25 dollars today, actually, to some old dude from craigslist). Flag this | Edit this post |
