| Ya, same here. I think I may just do 2 mblogs. And then just gradually append other stuff to the 2nd mblog so stuff doesn't get too messy up there with like a zillion*5005 articles.
And are some of you guys getting friends and stuff to vote on your articles? I guess anything goes. But for me, I'm just going to chill out this round; put up some stuff for fun, try to connect with a cpl ppl...save stressin' about stuff and 'the madness' for round 3.
Its 3 days until the contest rules are announced for the next round. I've already written 10,000 words+ for this contest, so I think I'm going to take a little breather here. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Whoa man. Powerful post. I respect you for putting it all out there... but don't you think this might be a bit too heavy of stuff for this kind of forum? Just my thoughts and opinion.
But to on thing I wanted to mention: I don't think you should be too upset about the review man. Think about it. 'Big box' store = big corporation -- has to imply broad policies. Their policy here being reviewing the bottom-producing 5% of the stores. A logical idea to continually increase profitability. Think about it: this has little to do with you; or your performance as human being, doing this job.. it's macroeconomics here. The loss of income is tough to deal with, but don't take it personally. No matter the manager the results probably would have been the same. Do you think way more people would come to the store if there was a different manager? Your employment-superiors at work are required to go through the motions as outlined by the mandates of their bosses, set by policies... don't take it all personally.
I'd also like to say though, that I thought your piece was very well written. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Looks like I won't be bouncing for a bit; so I'm going to work on my matrix. Knuckles: um, the KS FSE 0.22-25 tried to use beer as an water-based coolant for extreme overclocking! KS FSE stuff aside, in reality, I went to university for most of my 22nd to 25th years, were I primarily studied English Lit. Also in that time period, I worked as a waiter at restaurants, went on an awesome trip to Thailand, partied a great deal, read many books, and worked diligently on my writing. Not sure if I mentioned that before: I like to write; fiction, especially. I think I may throw some story-samples up or something. Most of my stuff is science fiction, but I have done radio plays, mainstream stuff, scripts etc. I'm also working on a novel right now (although it is currently going nowhere fast). My goal is to get my first book published by 30. (I'm 27.) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Well, what can I say. Wanted to do something a bit different, anyways. Hope all (or at least some) of ya' out there thought it was funny. PS:based my readme file on the one from the company of heroes demo and one from Nethack [the hardest game of all time]). I plan to do future mblogs, or, perhaps only a future mblog, in a little more straight forward fashion, where I can relate my background and views and such and things. Stay tuned. And I'm going to be throwing up some pics, non-literally, onto on my martix thang, and get that stuff going on. Gotta bounce! Peace! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Oh man, I gotta get to work :) . Much more about me than the primary colors -- at least, I hope so anyways. I got a funny mblog thing I'm going to post in a few hours (just got touch it up a bit) to start stuff off with. Then I'm going to move to phase 2 of Operation Make Kevin Look Cool, which may involve some ah, multimedia or something, on my matrix. Maybe a video. Stay tuned! Working on stuff, post-haste... | Thanks man -- just had a fantastic idea while I was eating some chicken chow mein, and I'm really looking forward to putting it together.
I'm going to do my first entry ASAP and make it an evolving thing. Going to get to work on it tonight... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Oh man, CanadaDave you are so right. Judging for this round will be tough, but next round -- its going to be tough times 10,000. I'm sure that all of round 3's articles will be excellent++ across the board. Picking 2 --or should I say, eliminating 8-- ppl out of the next round will be supremely difficult for the judges, I'm thinking.
Later edit: Oh, almost forgot about the Challenge Round. Real interested to see what that will be all about. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Great post, OgreFade. This contest has been a real eye-opener for me too. Although I have always enjoyed reading articles of the kind present in this contest and on this website, and although I have always been very into technology and gaming, and also considering I have at least a modicum of writing ability, you'd think it would have dawned on me before that I should consider something like this to do for a job. But it hasn't... until this contest came up, that is. Thanks again to the FS team for having it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Okay, I have some info I would like to post, in regards to the DNA drivers. This information was related to me by the affable DrHouse (--I think this may be an alias, but I'm not sure :] ).
First up: KillerSneak is the founder and lead creator behind DNA drivers. DrHouse, is the beta-team leader. I had this mixed up: sorry about that everybody.
Second thing to settle: KillerSneak is from the Netherlands. DrHouse is from Germany.
Thirdly: DNA has been around longer than I thought. They are one of the first op/modded drivers out there. DNA's first release was in 2002, when they were then called the "BlackOps ALL In One" drivers. I think only the Omega drivers are older.
And one more thing: I posted threads on the involved drivers' websites, linking them to my article. General consensus from the developers of the drivers is (and this was especially related, tactfully and succinctly, by Regeneration of the NGO team) that my benchmark comparison is unfair, because I compared the releases based on different Catalyst versions. I agree with everything these intelligent folks related to me, so, I would like to say, that although I hope I turned some readers on the idea of using the aforementioned drivers, my benchmark tests should NOT be seen as any sort of definitive test determining the superiority of one driver over another.
I'm pretty happy with my article but it was a learning experience for me. I would like to do a definitive performance benchmark of the drivers at some point in the future. I find the whole thing pretty interesting.
I'd like to thank all the guys who made the drivers and I like to thank everyone who read this article and especially those that give me a good rating :) .
And one final thing: I'm happy to report that it looks like I will be a new beta tester for DNA drivers :) . Hopefully I can help out DNA's development. Thanks DrHouse! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | As far I as I know, there are no drivers that specifically help cheaters. Wallhacks and hit-box gibblers and similar stuff -- thought up by programmers from the dark side of the force -- generally come in non-driver, standardly executable, program packages. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I apologize for any inaccurate DNA info, DrHouse. I'll explain the situation more fully on the thread I started @ the DNA forums. I'll get the correct background of the DNA team, and post it up. For the record, I posted all the info on the drivers from what I could gather from websites, forums, and documentation. A superior method would have been contacting the driver teams directly, and asking them a set of standard questions. That's the method I'd use if I had to write a similar kind of article again. | Don't give up hope BucNews. To quote from the comments on your piece: "However, these criticisms are nitpicks of an otherwise excellent entry." And the odds are fairly good. 24 entries, 10 make it the next round. I'm sure you're still in the running.
Thanks for all the comments, guys. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Sorry, a bit unclear there -- they are a German speaking team, from the Netherlands (from what I can gather from investigating the website and the forums).
As for the spacing, I'd like to say: "Arrgghh!" What a trouble. I orginally posted the article with spaces between all the paragraphs, but it didn't look right to me -- with all the headings, and the short sentences in the start of the article, the entire thing looked a bit spaced out. I think tabs could improve the look of the thing. Hopefully the whole situation is not worse than Godzilla attacking Tokyo again. Flag this | Edit this post |
