I think thought that what you are asking for is sort of impossible. With any activity in life there is a law of diminishing returns. The more time you spend with something the better you get...but at a slower rate. I don't think that any interface changes to any genre of game would remove the inherent advantage that a teenager who spends 30+ hours a week practicing is going to have over you. Doing something longer and repeatedly is almost automatically going to make you better at it.
Interface changes may make games initially more accessible but it can't and shouldn't automatically take away the benefits that those who are dedicated to it enjoy.
