| Also the source of why people say Windows is a bad OS... Mainstream users don't get why something bad happened, so who do they blame? I can't help you if you dropped your hard drive off a building into a vat of corrosive chemicals and put a magnet on it and can't figure out why Windows won't start. It's obviously Windows malfunctioning.
Linux can have more (and more complex) issues but you hardly see anyone slam it. Why? Because the users know that most of the time problems come from themselves, not the OS. They at least spend time to find the source of the problem before resorting to calling it a piece of crap. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Can't deny that they are losing money to pirates. True, not everyone that pirates would have bought the game, but some of them would have if they couldn't pirate.
The guy went overboard on his rant, guess he snapped at some point. Though, think of it this way- Those that pirate a game and enjoy the game really do represent a bad facet of humans. A dedicated team sacrificed so much of their time and effort to make a good game that they enjoyed yet they are not willing to show basic appreciation by paying $50 for their hard work. | Another cowardly anonymous.
Yes, I had a few problems with Titan Quest, but that was mostly due to my graphics card overheating (Turns out dust was caked on the heat sink so the fan was doing next to nothing). I'm sure a few other people had problems with it crashing, but you do understand the other forces in your OS that could cause these so called "Buggy as all fuck games"? As much as we would like it to be, games don't have a monopoly on the system resources. As the guy said- "it can't possibly be my fault" culture. Flag this | Edit this post |

| This is why I like being in school :) (Granted, I am dropping almost 10k a year into it). In an effort to draw in fresh grads they've given us a ton of free keys and discounted keys. 2 free Business keys and as many $80 Ultimate keys we want. Oh yeah, as many free XP keys as we want too. Might as well mention Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 professional for free. If you thought OS's were expensive, hehe.
Yeah, I can't justify people upgrading an existing PC with Vista. But a new PC, you might as well grab Vista if you need to buy a new OS anyway. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well, all they really did was reduce ammo capacity so it's not horrible. If you think about it, their ammo capacity was so high that you almost never had to reload your ammo before. This makes it so there's an actual point to reloading instead of pissing off engineers at the start of round.
The pipe bomb ammo is an exception. I have run out of that before... But, then again, I tend to spam it so I am annoyed by that change. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Um right... As often as they want? There was a 5 year gap between xp and vista. If that was as often as they want, I'd hate to see the gap if they paced themselves.
Ridiculous new features? Well, I suppose an OS that automatically optimizes itself for better performance the more you use it is ridiculous to some. What is wrong with optimization? Especially when you don't need to do anything but what you normally would do? Many people that complain about performance issues never used it for more than a few days. Well, Vista will be slow during those few days since it can take a week to gather enough data to optimize your system for how you use it. Do a little research on it from reputable sources, you'll be surprised.
As for locks on forcing upgrades with Vista... What's your point? You buy the version for what you need it for and that's it. I use Business for everything, work and gaming, with no problems. You pay for what you get. It's no different from buying a different OS. In fact, you get the added bonus of software working the same between them. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Ubuntu is getting there sorta. It's nowhere close at the moment, but it has the potential. Their deal with Dell to put it on some of their computers is a pretty good sign. It is probably one of the few (probably only) Linux distros where I can see the average user using and having a good experience. BTW, I consider OSX a Linux distro, and the worst example of one I have seen so far. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Greed drives humans. Governments tend to show it more. Wonder if they would have fined Microsoft if it were an European company instead of American.
Well, as said, it is the consumers who will pay, either in the reduction of improvements to their products or a price raise for software, or other less obvious ways. Of course, they can care less. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I just call it being short sighted. Although, I think the higher ups in EA started to realize that gutting studios and mistreating developers will hurt rather than help. Having the intellectual property doesn't do shit if you don't have the people behind it that make it happen. Hopefully they change their ways. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Depends on how the chemical reacts to that much heat. It might not break down or might be located in an area where it has nothing to react with. Even if it were to react with something the products may still be toxic.
On the other hand, anything technological tends to be fragile when it comes to high heat. You know, metal a few nanometers in width tends to melt and boil easily.
I'm not saying it can't be a weapons test, but what I said didn't imply that it was. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, I'd have to agree, this move is probably related to the alliance.
And interesting bit of info about the multi-threading compiler. That can't be a small task seeing as the obstacles that multi-threading poses, particularly when it comes to data access. I'm really curious as to how it works. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Who had any doubt about portal? If anyone did I'll chuck one of those so-cute-i-wanna-hug-them-to-death-(literally) drones at them. Through a portal. Followed by one of those energy balls. And Glados's curiosity and anger ball thingies.

| | Hehe... Hide technological secrets. I think the energy generated from reentry on a vehicle not designed for reentry would do more than enough to take care of any technological secrets. Lets see how well you can pick out the layout of transistors in your quad core CPU after tossing it into a furnace. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Ok, here's the cost breakdown of $60 a year:
That is about $1.16 a week. That is less than 1/6th of an hour of work at min wage once a week. I wish my phone bill was that cheap.
Don't say "over 5 years" bull shit. that is $300 over 5 years, big deal. To pay for it at min wage you need to work 40 hours. 40 FUCKING HOURS OVER 5 YEARS. Assuming a month off on a standard 40 hours week you will work 8800 hours in that time. If you can't afford that, you probably shouldn't be playing any games, unless you're just a kid.
And need I make the connection that WoW costs a 3x as much for a single game? Yes, you gotta buy the games here. But guess what? You gotta buy WoW too. Flag this | Edit this post |

| What makes it slow? Downloads are always fast. I rarely lag in games. More often than not any visible network latency is due to other 360s or my network giving out, not because of Live. Finding games online never took that long. I honestly have no idea where you got slow from.
What about live is buggy? I'm sure there are bugs, any complex system has bugs, but I have yet to see one that impacted my experience. Not even that outage (Which wasn't a bug) in December effected me.
Seems like you're just regurgitating rumors or what you want to be true, regardless of the actual experience. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Not gonna get into an argument about the stability of the 360, but there is a HUGE difference between the 360's online and the PS3's online capabilities. Since the start of the original XBox, Microsoft invested a lot into getting the service running and making it GOOD. So paying about $5 a month for it isn't that bad, it is a REALLY good service and miles ahead of anything else the other consoles offer. Meanwhile, the Wii's service is meh, practically ignored. The PS3's feels like it was thrown in at the last minute. And the service is still pretty crappy right now. You get what you pay for. Flag this | Edit this post |
