I'm already running Vista... tHe only thing that sucked was STALKER and my 8800 series card, and my Act Labs Force RS wheel didn't work. Otherwise, it's a sweet OS IMO.
Where's the new Vista Drivers for these cards? Wait till people fire up STALKER on vista with these cards. They'll be pissed. The current drivers are garbage.
So I tried the demo. Hoping it would at least be a decent AOE Rip off... The characters are distorted (like fat and bloated and cartoon looking)... Guess i'm too used to ROME:TW.
Great... They announce an add-on before they even release the patch for the game which has been delayed for some time now... Don't get me wrong, it's a great game.. but two handed fighters are broken, AI won't attack if they are being attacked and tons of other fixes they should have fixed before even mentioning an add-on. Its a kick in the balls to us that want a fully functional game and know they have been using resources on an add-on game.
I ran home at lunch to apply the patch.. no go.. Vista and 8800 cards is still an issue... I get about 11fps on the outside level.. Core2@2.93ghz/8800GTS XFX... I should be gettin a lil better then that. :)

If you have Vista and an 8800 series videocard, forget about playing STALKER. We have to wait for this Nvidia Driver update. There are massive issues with the card and vista (THQ FAQ Confirms this).
I tried playing it on my rig (E6600@2.9ghz/XFX 8800GTS) and got a solid 7-12fps as soon as I walk outside.
And a lil Surprised FS didn't test it out with Vista and their 8800 card.
