| » nice thanks for the hardware analysis FS! now, could u guys show us the benefit of dual cores over single cores?
also, why would we need DX10 to get smooth smoke effects?!? i've seen incredible smoke effects in COD2 and that's DX9. what gives? Flag this | Edit this post |

| » no hardware testing? i usually come to firingsquad for the hardware testing and game testing that u guys do. was disappointed to find none for a state of the art game like Bioshock.:( no offense, but there are TONS of reviews for this game, but FS should differentiate themselves by doing some hardware testing along w/ the compulsary game review. i.e. how does this game compare on single/dual/quad cores? how does it perform on different video cards, etc.
hopefully u guys can do that soon. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | great article, but yea those figures were suspect, a game needs to sell 830, 000 copies to JUST break even?! if that's true, i can't imagine any of these guys even caring to continue this industry, its simply too much headache considering the costs & risks u identified. Why would anyone want to continue in such a field when they can just switch to business applications or somethin? Flag this | Edit this post |

| » what mainstream dualcore games? you said in this article that dual core games are now mainstream, would u care to elaborate which "mainstream" games u're talking about? i have'nt seen any out right now, aside from Quake4 which is hardly mainstream, that show improvements compared to a single core at anything higher than 1280x1024. your own benchmarks for other games proved this. | » thanks thanks for the cpu benchmarks. was looking forward to this, kinda sucks that the readme.txt says "upgrading to dualcore is one of the best ways to improve performance for stalker". what a load of BS that turned out to be.:( thanks for clarifying the truth. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » cpu testing when? so when is the dualcore testing article coming for STALKER? im contemplating upgrading to a dualcore, but i now have a rule, i NEVER upgrade unless something out NOW actually uses it. that's right, learned that from years of experience. so please post up that cpu testing article w/ different resolutions. thanks!
