| » Online matchmaking What are your thoughts about the online setup used by different games? Specifically, Halo 2-3's matchmaking and the similar service expected in Call of Duty 4 as compared to Gears of War.
Do you think that more companies will attempt a matchmaking setup? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Well Microsoft has the financial backing to take risky moves or at least actions that won't lead to profit for some time. They probably knew Zune wouldn't catch on very fast, but that it would take them a long time to penetrate the market. What they really lack is that they didn't establish their product as superior or even show that it can do something Ipod can't. Flag this | Edit this post |

| This article is quite accurate. Nintendo does well because it really appeals to such a broad market due to it's style of games and super low price. I would actually not even consider nintendo a part of the "war". Nintendo has always done well for itself regardless of the competition, this time it is just much more evident.
Sony needs a larger install base to get more and better games. It's unfortunate that the EA sports games perform so poorly on PS3. This is mainly because they don't prioritize the PS3 port very highly. Bottom line is PS3 is too expensive currently and has a long way to go with online functionality.
360 has done well for itself. XboxLive is a robust service that is great for gamers. Their sales reflect that they have owned up to the hardware problems. When you know you have a 3 year warranty, there is nothing to be afraid of.
Really they are all good systems in their own right. Some excel where others fail. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Nvidia supplies a lot of chips in the PS3. I don't believe consoles will cause a problem for ATI or Nvidia. I know that manufacturers will continue to push the envelope and make things faster and faster. The trend is that less games are made solely for the pc and fully take advantage of new technologies. If the game is multiplatform with simulaunch the pc version may not be as good as it could be in some cases. All of that said, I'm a gamer period PC and 360 in my case.
I just wish all games for windows games would have achievements. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I recently bought a pc with Vista Ultimate 32 and 5 gigs of ram 1 of those gigs being flash memory. Problem is it seems 32 bit operating systems are only capable of paging 4gig of memory total. You also have to subtract what is taken up by other resources such as the video card. So my problem is that the OS only recognizes 2.75gb of ram. Do you know of any work around outside of moving to 64bit? Flag this | Edit this post |
