| » NO LAN PLAY IS AN ATROCITY I realize a lot of PC gamers assume no one LAN games anymore but you couldn't be more than wrong. The removal of local LAN play is unacceptable as someone who has used this feature for over 10 years. I'm pretty angry at IW and now DICE for taking this action. An action that appears to be taken due to greed. Control (DRM) and selling DLC seems to be all these big companies are concerned about these days.
By the way this 500 man LAN party sold out in 2 weeks. So no LAN playing isn't dead. www.pdxlan.net/ Flag this | Edit this post |

| I was excited 2 or 3 years ago when this game was announced. Not anymore.
IMHO Microsoft wants PC gaming to die but its not going anywhere. Check out all the awesome games coming out this year. Its back on the upswing Microsoft. :P Console gaming cannot kill the better gaming experience (IMHO) that a PC provides.
Microsofts move to make a nuetered PC, calling it a console and smoozing all the PC gaming developers has not worked. The PC is still alive and thiving more than ever.
Both platforms have their +/-. Game on what you enjoy. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Ya, I'd have to agree with Synchronous. While GFWL isn't all that and a bowl of cherries. It's not any worse than XBOX live that all the console gamers gladly bow to.
What bothers me are developers/publishers are going to far with DLC. The game isn't even out yet but they are already planning to ream the consoletards who will buy it. Guess I really can't blame them if these dumbarses will buy it. If they'd only realize it would be free on the PC or like the the better days, released as an expansion pack. DLC=the cluelessness of gamers and corps move to nickel and dime them. Flag this | Edit this post |

| » This guy is insane So since LotRO isn't doing as well as WoW Turbine is setting thier sights on consoles. A mmorpg on console, ya right. Not that it couldn't be successful because consoleboys will buy anything but its definately going to suck. Console + Turbine = fail I tried LotRO and was bored to tears.
I just reread it and is comments are either from insanity or he's a console fanboy. This comment really gets me; "Alexander said consoles are designed to be more accessible and playable than PC, and also they're more social than the PC platform." My kids do ALL of their socializing on thier PCs. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | You dummy console gamers keep kissing up to MIcrosoft and see where it leads you. If you must console game then get a PS3/Wii. Being a 360 fanboy is BAD for gamers and I'm sad to see it has become so popular. Microsoft was/is evil in the OS/app arena and it will only ruin gaming if it gets a monopoly on it. It already has you paying for online play and DLC for kripes sake. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Nvidia was bending over PC gamers until AMD/ATI released the 4800 series. PC gaming had hit a huge speedbump. One reason being expensive gaming videocards. ATI came in and said, hey look you can have great gaming videocard for less than $200. I'm neither a Nvidia or ATI fanboy. I just want the best bang for the buck and AMD/ATI came to the rescue with the 4800 series and now Windows 7 will remove the other PC gaming blackeye Windows Vista. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Can we cut the chase and agree that Cliffy B. is just a 360 fan boy. He spouts B.S. just like they do.
Gaming editors need to stop giving this console fan boy the opportunity to spread his PC gaming hate venom. He's been saying the same shait for almost a year now over and over. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | YEP, I agree to. PC gamers have been enjoying these types of games for years. Consolers are just getting a real taste of FPS online and they are lapping any online FPS title up like dogs. It'll pass then they'll switch to pc for better graphics and controls. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think the biggest problem is this year has been fantastic for pc gamers. I've been deluged by so many great titles that I can't keep up. IT's a great time to pc game.
Another problem is pc gamers are more tech savy and more likely to check out forums. Of course when you do that you usually see the complainers and whiners who live to hate on everything unless its Half Life or Valve related. So you see a lot of underserved comments for a lot of games that you may just like if you had bought it. I usually trust magazine (PC Gamer or GFW) reviews over some random forum post and it works out the majority of the time.
It also seems trendy lately to belittle pc gaming. It comes heavily from 360 fanboys and even more so from expcgamers who must justify their 360 purchase and convince themselves that gaming on the 360 is more fun. When in actuality while its a big bowl of "ok" its not as engrossing as gaming on the pc. Flag this | Edit this post |
