| I don't think people were initially complaining because of stability issues, but really because of the lack of performance on DX10. If anything, I've heard at times it's more stable than XP (thanks to the new driver model etc.). But word travels in wrong ways, and many falsely end up hearing that the OS blows/buggy etc. etc.
I guess my only real gripe is that it doesn't seem to bring anything really innovative to the table except for the GPU accelerated windows manager (aero?). I just hope in time game companies figure out extremely cool stuff to do with DX10 that you really just cannot do with DX9 in a feasible amount of cycles. Currently the stuff we hear and read about are still gimmicks. The fact that Bioshock does soft particles only on DX10 for example is purely a marketing thing. Plenty of games out there do soft particles with DX9 and it runs fine. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I just hope that they'll have some analog (mouse like) control mechanism attached to the controller. It could a tiny thumb trackball which would could work quite nicely. I hate it when a good chunk of the AAA console titles are shooters and all they offer are dual analog thumb sticks for control. So annoying. Heck, then RTS games like the new C&C for the 360 might actually be playable for a change. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I'd like to see it get used as an optional FPS controller like the mouse for PCs (full analog input). Wiimote is used as a mouse pointer at it semms to work pretty nicely. But I really hoped for a tiny trackball attachment that you could hook up to the 360 controller like the keyboard attachment... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Quite honestly, I don't know why someone today in their right mind would buy a PS3 instead of the X360... The only thing that comes to mind is that they really value some of the exclusives (some of which aren't out yet) like Gran Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid, Little Big Planet, God of War 3 etc. Or pushing it, perhaps they are in love with the six-axis controller.
The hardware isn't superior to the X360. Don't argue about this. If you think it is, then you haven't done your research. Blu-ray? 1080p? Ability to install Linux? Really? Perhaps they also fail to recognize that pretty much all multi-platform games look worse on the PS3. I could go on and on, but it's too late and the post is already too long... =\ Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'd say see it if you've played the games. I think most people complain about the movie because they have no point of reference when they're "dropped" into the Hitman world.
Unfortunately, even though movies are supposed to be able stand alone for their story line and character development, at times when there's too much to cover, it just doesn't work.
Here's a concept pic from "Blood Money" that made it's way into the movie... Link: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/......0&sid=undefined Flag this | Edit this post |

| | If you're looking for realistic sim racers, then GTR2, GT Legends, rFactor, Live for Speed to name a few. Most fun playing with a stick shift and analog clutch pedal... Can be either the Logitech G25 or combine that (or the Logitech Driving Force) with the better Act-labs stick shift and clutch pedal combo. Flag this | Edit this post |

| So what happens if someone actually swallows a couple of mentos after a glass or two of diet coke... Does either product have a disclaimer about this violent reaction on their packaging or something?
What if I wanted to sue them for it? =P Flag this | Edit this post |

| » To those who still think... ...that the PS3 has more horsepower than the 360. Read the article and cry... and please stop claiming that the PS3 CPU is way more powerful than the 360...because it's not. As for the titles that are coming out on both platforms, the developers are probably looking at the PS3 as the "lowest common denominator" between the two.
If anything, the only thing the PS3 has going for it, is the hype factor and some exclusive titles. Link: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=32171 Flag this | Edit this post |

| | FYI, Xbox 360 *does* support 1080p and it's not like we're seeing a PS3 game @ 1080p anytime soon either. I think there are no launch titles supporting that res at the moment. Do you remember when Sony claimed that the PS3 would be able to run 3 screens at 1080p initially? Well are you hearing anything about that? I don't think so... Flag this | Edit this post |

| I never understood how the hot coffee mod was any different than the nude patches out there for various games.
In both cases, to see the content you need to apply a patch to the game. Be it a 1KB patch, or a 100MB patch. To the end user, it doesn't matter if the content already existed in the game.

| | Like many new technologies being introduced into the market, Ageia should've started working it's way down from the business level, not straight from the consumer level. Trying to penetrate the consumer level as a new technology is extremely hard. When you look at accelerated graphics hardware, they were first introduced because of CAD/CAM software. Not because of games. Ageia should've found a way to get these types of applications to work faster, or maybe help speed up simulators for high-tech military, or aviation training facilities. Basically work with companies that can easily afford such new technology. Then trickle down to the consumer when there's more software/games that support the technology.
