I don't know about you guys but after Nvidia's first attempt at dumping 2 vid cards together as one i'd never ever buy something like that, I hope this isn't the future of vid cards as it may be ages before we can get Crysis playable at max, they should go the Intel route and make something that's super efficient and uses little power Flag this | Edit this post |

easily fixed via patches,
imo they're shooting themselves in the foot, ultimately dividing the market as no sane person will drop many hundreds or thousands of dollars onto a new OS every few years and could very well pave the way for MAC to become more popular due to confusion with all the different windows versions on the market at any one time, a new OS isn't needed for many years, personally I liked how it took so long between XP and Vista only having to worry about one OS and now when Vista starts getting widely adopted the new version will come out confusing those upgrading whether to go for Vista or go all the way, utter disaster imo Flag this | Edit this post |

| | you know, I just listened to last decembers Gamespot HotSpot podcast and they discuss the one console idea and they do have a good point, atm there's almost no exclusives and so many games are for all consoles with very minimal difference (read: none) between the versions, so ultimately it gets to the point of, will having just one console actually change anything? as long as it stays the one maker it doesn't appear so, though if Sony and MS got together (in like 10 years, obviously not any time soon) i'd prefer they keep the Xbox controller :P Flag this | Edit this post |

| 2 issues with that list (might have been 3 but I don't reallt know anything about the "glorified webpages"
1. BluRay's uncompressed sounds are unnoticeable, that's what i've heard time and time again as either speakers aren't good enough or humans just can't hear that amount of quality
2. imo web connectivity is a very bad thing, do we really want 'more' advertisements in DVD's? I was gutted when they started forcing the ads at the beginning of the DVD :( Flag this | Edit this post |

| | rofl, that's a huge step backwards and ultimately defeats the point of having the unified console, one idea of having a unified console is so that you only have to develop for one console and be able to optimize the best, with having different levels of performance you will start having to introduce different quality settings sacrificing largely on the optimizations as you'd have to dev for multiple graphic quality settings, ensuring all work etc Flag this | Edit this post |
