| Hindsight is always 20/20. Good news is we now have a true race with 2 competing techs (Ps3 & 360) with another viable alternative (Wii).
At the end of the day having M$oft in the console market means more choice, higher quality games (let the flaming ensue), and lower prices for us consumers. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Now do I need to separate you two?
Yoshi, that was a low blow, & Soldier37 relax.
You both are correct. M$oft did solve the RROD issue (both warranty & new hardware wise) and we all can admit PS3 launched light on games (but has come on strong lately).
Can't we all just get along! LOL Flag this | Edit this post |

| Agreed.
Furthermore if memory serves me right the article says the stuff he's working on (late 2009, 2010 release games) is close to (but not at) the limit.
By mid 2010 I'm sure we'll be getting hints of the Xbox480, Next Box, or whatever they will call it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The ad itself is interesting. My wife and I were left with:
1. Hey, that's kinda cool. Bill Gates & Jerry Seinfeld doing Seinfeld-esq things. Gotta go get me some Conquistadors.
2. Huh? What does this have to do with M$oft or Vista?
Would this commercial at all change my impression of what M$oft is (and isn't) and put them in the same 'hip', 'cool', 'lifestyle' section Mac has cornered the market on? EPIC FAIL. Flag this | Edit this post |

| And like the article missing the point.
Can't put them in the same generation. Let me put it simpler since you didn't get it the first time:
You can't put the Wii, 360, and PS3 in the same 'generation of hardware'. Too different. it's like comparing a 08 Camry and a 08 BMW M3 and saying the Camry wins because it outsells the BMW 5 to 1. Different market, different product.
Nintendo made its own class (which they are obviously dominating). When M$soft & Sony come out with Wii like consoles (control scheme & market focus segment) and they go head to head then you can make a comparison. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The article misses the point. Nintendo didn't win this generation of consoles. 360 & pS3 are still duking that out.
Big N knew they couldn't win the flashy graphics market (or the online market for that matter). N was brilliant and decided to create their own sandbox to play in, and make it so easy to access (cost & playwise) that they enlarged the proverbial pie. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Or maybe BECAUSE Dead Rising 2 is coming out MKR is threatening the lawsuit. Let's face it, if Dead Rising suxed, they wouldn't have cared and let the game die as shovelware.
...however, since it sold a bajillion copies, and the sequel will likely do the same they know there is money there to be made.
Gotta love the lawyers! :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hate much?
If you're an obvious Sony fanboy it would be nice (and less hypocritical) to declare such allegiances publicly prior to calling someone else a fanboy.
As for the better system I think it depends on how you look at it.
Multimedia capability = PS3 (Blu-ray 4 the win)
Online service = 360 (and its not even close)
Games = 360 (Give PS3 credit for exclusives, but when the 'inferior' machine CONSISTENTLY beats you in graphics & controls on multi-platform games its not pretty)
Mfg Quality & design = PS3 (Sorry Bill, even with the billion dollar warranty Sony has you there)
Price = Tie...BARELY. I agree if 360 doesn't drop price soon everyone will realize PS3 is a 'bargain' w/ Blu-ray Flag this | Edit this post |

| Who cares? This round is more or less over. Wii #1, 360 #2, PS3 #3.
Sad part is I know M$soft is working on Xbox Next already likely for 2010 (or Xmas 2009?) release, just when peeps are predicting Sony should 'catch up' or overtake.
It will be interesting to see if Wii can maintain over the long haul... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Hey, you know what they say about opinions. Everyone has them...etc.
IMHO he's a douche, but again that's just my take. I love it when someone compares the 'new' or 'different' to yesteryear and automatically equates it to 'trash'. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I was stoked after seeing the initial demo/trailer/cgi. It's kinda gone underground, but these new screenshots get me stoked again. Looks like a FPS/Oblivion hybrid...much prettier, with better action.
Should be sweet! Unfortunately from what I see I don't think 360 could handle it. (MAYBE PS3, but w/ its memory issue that might be a stretch too). Oh well, time to rebuild the rig for Crysis anyway :) Flag this | Edit this post |
