| Makes sense, and unfortunately until enough small-mid retailers stop selling games no one will notice a rip. Wal-Mart & Best Buy are smiling right now because they're big enough to still make a profit.
Development costs are higher, I get it. But those increased costs overall haven't resulted in better games. You still get your A level, B level, and C level games. You still get your products that ship so buggy they're unplayable.
The console example is flat out ridiculous. No sane business person would chose to carry that product unless they were certain to make money on other items (hint, the games) and it sounds like they aren't. Flag this | Edit this post |

| To say this means you don't understand the economics involved. Read some of the other posts. Originally yes they sold the console at a loss (like every other console loss...not involving Nintendo... in history).
You make it up in software sales, and then in price cuts due to better manufacturing, etc.
Now they are making a meager profit (~$30 last time I checked) per 360. Once they give the spring price cut they'll likely lose money again but gain market share.
Eventually (3 years?) just like the PS2 and even *gasp* the Xbox they'll make money on every console. It's not the point.
They went from 0 presence, to the market leader in what, five years?
With that much cash M$oft can basically buy its way into any market it wants. Our job as consumers is to make sure they get the product right and don't try to slam crap down our throats. So far they've gotten better while Sony seems to have got arrogant (while Nintendo is happy to dominate a select market- handhelds-, innovate-Wii-, and generally print money. If she gets her curves back (i.e. EAT SOMETHING WOMAN) and stays as a brunette/dark redhead then she's easily one fo the top 10 babes in Hollywood.

| I will respectfully disagree on your sentiment. Anchorman was definitely a 'hit' to me!
This will be like any of Will's movies. There will be some DROP DEAD ROTFL & forever quotable moments. "Go back to your home on WHORE island!" Classic.
Then there will be the dreaded ok that was a really lame joke lets get to the next scene momemts.

I guess its easy to make a profit when your console is really only Gamecube 2.0, and just putting the name Gameboy (Color, Lite, DS, Micro, etc.) on something makes it sell like 20 Million copies in Japan alone.

If that was the mission (Kill Saddam) the US could have taken him out years ago instead of outfitting him with most of his weapons and training his troops to fight IRAN (oops!).
Hussein's definitely a bad guy who deserved to die, but we (U.S.) do not have any right to gloat since we helped him maintain power in the first place.
Don't be naive and think we didn't know what kind of man he was during the IRAN/IRAQ war.
Lets just be glad he won't be returning to power anytime soon, and hope someone worse doesn't replace him. The moment we start to leave (as early as next year) there will be some sort of civil/war shakeout. Could end up the last few years of war were for nothing... Flag this | Edit this post |

| V-ball scenes withstanding, don't you get the feeling this movie would have been so much better as a full length CG film?
