MMORPGs aren't for everyone. Especially people like you who require instant gratification and don't understand how MMORPGs work. If you come from a gaming background of mindless shooters and four-player-max strategy games, you won't appreciate WoW. However, if you've played a couple other MMORPGs before coming to WoW, you'll appreciate WoW all the more. There's no MMORPG out there quite as good as WoW. Playing WoW actually feels like a game, whereas most other MMORPGs feel like a full-time job. That's why me and 9 million other people are fans.
WoW is also the fastest MMORPG out there. Of course, you couldn't touch on that in your review because you decided it'd be a good idea to not play any other MMORPG before bashing WoW. In fact, just a few weeks ago, the EXP gain from levels 1-60 was accelerated dramatically. It now takes just about 3 or 4 months of casual play to reach level 70. What more could you ask for? Considering that other MMORPGs like Everquest and Final Fantasy XI are designed to take you a year or more to reach maximum level (Final Fantasy XI even penalizes you if you don't level one class to 75 and a second class to 37 or higher), WoW is definitely a lot more lenient.
You're probably mentally incompatible with the game. You seem to think playing for a certain amount of time every day is required, and that you are forced to spend days of game time to earn items. These things are untrue, so I think your dislike of WoW stems from the fact that you set goals for yourself that you can never meet just so you can hate the game when you can't meet them. There is no required time commitment to WoW, and there is no weapon that takes days of gameplay to earn below level 70. Certainly not at level 15. Flag this | Edit this post |
