| » 4-pack I hope they offer an upgrade path for those of us who bought the 4 pack for our families only 6 months ago. Even my wife was pissed when she learned that we had to buy this "expansion" after shelling out 200 bucks. Not sure they're getting anymore of my hard earned money. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Up, running and working great. I was VERY skeptical so VERY surprised after playing Left 4 Dead and Dead Space all weekend without a single glitch or system reboot.
I'm running the 64-bit version. System is:
EVGA 680i w/Intel 6850
BFG 216 MaxCore
4GB Dominator 8500
X-Fi sound card
There are a few things that are unfinished but I was only concerned with performance and stability which are very good. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm not so sure. My rock solid Vista64 system with a BFG 260 MaxCore crashes out of Far Cry 2 within a few minutes of gameplay with the the message that my video driver has stopped responding. Reverted back to the 180 driver, issue went away and played for an hour without an issue.
Anyone else see this? Flag this | Edit this post |

| Not impressed. No LAN option, all multiplayer has to authenticate on line and Steam only allows one account login at a time. I have multiple copies of half-life yet me and my kids can't all login and play. When did Steam start that BS? Checked online and they now have a 4 pak option for 150.00
150.00 for me and my kids to play a game online? With no LAN option? No way. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree to the one term comment. He is a younger, more polished Carter. I remember that sad time in our history too. Hilary is just waiting quietly for 2012 and the republicans may have the ammo they need after Obama proves he's an empty suit.
Both of our choices are weak but the socialistic views of Obama mixed with Biden is a little too much for me. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | We have em all. The PS3 connected to the big screen for Bluray, up-convert and some gaming, the Wii for my wife and daughter(Wii Fit and sports) and the 360 upstairs for the boys that gets the most action. All are great and serve a different purpose. Me, I like PC gaming and don't use any of them. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | No PC version = I won't buy the console version. I'm one of those old school gamers with allot of kids who Epic is turning its back on. F em for accusing all of us who made Epic what it is today of being pirates. Never have, never will pirate and will stop buying games from those using this lame excuse to stop making us PC games. God bless Valve and Stardock. I will buy their games Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Thanks guys. I ended up buying the VisionTek 4870 for $260.00 at Best Buy. This thing is ridiculously fast and outperforms my friends BFG 260 and was $79.00 cheaper. I have been a loyal fan of Nvidia for many years but ATI did a great job here. Gotta love competition Flag this | Edit this post |

| What a disappointment. This simply shows that they are suffering a series of setbacks and failures and are unable to produce a product that is on par with previous performance gains.
The last time this happened, ATI released the 9700 and quickly became the performance king for a year. I don't see that happening again soon, but AMD has a window of opportunity here. Gotta love competition. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Thank God we don't build roads, bridges, buildings, airplanes, most cars, homes and appliances that way. Vista and the 360 are good examples of how NOT to manage a QA department for any company.
IMO, they would boost public support by openly admitting they have failed at QA and are restructuring the department to meet new standards and provide unprecedented feedback and support of the consumer. The way they're handling it now, it looks like cover up and excuses that are only ascertained after a subpoena of internal docs. Sad Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'll never play a FPS on a console. The PC is the superior format for playing with precise control.
I couldn't imaging trying to play Sins of a Solar Empire or any other LAN game on a console.
The console has its place just not for me when it comes to LAN gaming, FPS and RTS. I like it for racing, sports and fighting games. Flag this | Edit this post |

| The point being made is that the issues with Vista remind everyone of the Millennium fiasco before XP. During that time, many people stayed with 98se or 2000. Anything was better then Millennium.
In that context, many people today believe that anything is better then Vista as seen in the increase pressure on Microsoft, lawsuits, demand for XP, and the increase of people converting to Mac. Our department made the decision to go MacBook Pro instead of a Dell laptop with Vista. We made a great choice and we keep hearing that many others are following suit. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Quads with 3x GPU's are extreme or "dream".
Vista does not support sound hardware acceleration. That's rediculous after declaring the OS as gamer friendly.
Your opinion that Vista is just as good as XP for gaming is opposite of the editors of MaximumPC, PC Gamer, and many more hardcore gamers including myself.
The UI is amazing?? Compared to what? OS10? It's XP with widgets with crappy support from the hardware and software community. 7 top Microsoft execs admit this and have escalated the need for the next OS. This is pure fact in the current class-action lawsuit.
Not since Millennium, have I been asked to re-install an older OS as many times as I do for my clients. Opinion is one thing, facts and the real business, gaming world are another. Flag this | Edit this post |
