| » The "bad" ?? OK, most of people reacted just to first "bad" (being Start menu).
And while I don't have any problems with Win7's start menu, I have to say I don't have any problems with other two "bad" points either.
First - the bootloader.
What's the problem there exactly? You install XP on one partition, you install Vista or Win7 on second one. You turn on computer, chose your OS, and you're in.
Is there anything else I should know about this "bootloader roblem"? I've installed and reinstalled Vista couple of times (mostly for testing purposes) and have also installed Windows 7 - and I never had ANY problems with it. Even when removing Vista from second partition, bootloader stayed and worked just fine.
Just a note - I did NOT setup anything manualy. Just installed new OS, and that's it.
Now the final "bad" point - Vista done proper.. How can anyone say that the BAD thing for ANYTHING can be the fact that it is BETTER than the version before it? So should I say that WinXP was terrible because it was that much better han Win98?? OK, so timing is bad... but IMHO - it would be worse to leave us next 5-6 years with Vista as only option.
This is a BAD POINT for VISTA - and you can't say this is Win7's fault (??!)
All in all, I have no major complaints about Windows 7. Well, I do have one - lack of icons altogether (both in Win 7 and in Essentials suite). But if a reviewer can't figure out that NO ICONS IS BAD, they really shouldn't say anything about other stuff either :P :)

| » Catalyst 8.1 vs 8.2 ..? OK, I know that intensive testing requires time, but Catalys 8.2 have been out for a while now, and they state huge improvements in one case where HD3870 X2 fails in these tests - CoH.
So how come none of the hardware sites made new tests with these new drivers, if nothing else than adding these few numbers to the pages where they are posting CoH results.
So please, if you do still have this cards, test HD 38xx cards in CoH once more. Here is something from Catalys 8.2 release notes:
"Performance improvements with this release of Catalyst™ includes Company of Heroes DX10 frame rates increasing as much as 20% across all of the ATI Radeon™ HD 2x00 series of products and on all ATI Radeon™ HD 3x00 series of products. These performance improvements are even larger (up to 30%) for CrossFire™ configurations."
If it's really 20-30%, than X2 will best nVidia's Ultra as well in CoH DX10 tests, and if not - we'd like to know the truth! Otherwise we can a) blindly believe ATI/AMD's release notes, and just add 20%, or b) cheer for Ultra cards advantage..
