| News flash -- the column is about a game, not real life.
Also, you're missing my point entirely. I preferred VC and SA because they cloaked their violence in such absurdity that you couldn't take anything seriously. GTA IV hits too close to home, though, to the point where I found some of Niko's more heinous acts absolutely gut-wrenching, beginning with his execution of Vlad early on.
Like the other poster said, the executions just seemed out of place, and way too extreme for a game that's traditionally been too over the top to take all that seriously. Racing around on crazy sprees of violence in a cartoon world is one thing; slo-mo shooting victims in the head is on a whole other level.
In this case, for me, less realism is more. Flag this | Edit this post |

| No problems on the PS3 with me as I said in the review. 40GB model. The 360 version really taxed my console. Crashes in the opening cinematic, amazingly loud drive spinning and fans going. Was worrying about the game driving me to an RROD problem.
How the hell did MS ever get the early 360 builds through QA? I'm amazed mine has lasted this long. Freaking vacuum cleaner. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Uh, the Postal news is exactly the way that I wrote it. It's still 100% Brett Todd BS!
I actually liked Doom 3. Well, the expansion pack, at least. The original was pretty samey after a couple of hours. But I didn't even mind that much, because it's what I expected from id. You buy an id game expecting awesome innovations, you need your head read. Flag this | Edit this post |

| You know what's really rich about your bitching, WallShadows? That just about every site on the net, including Google News does the same thing with headlines that I'm doing.
Here's some I can see right now on the main page in Google News and in entertainment. Gee, they're crazy cryptic, too, aren't they?

| You want plain press releases, go elsewhere. There are plenty of places on the net to read corporate-speak.
Anyhow, how can I not make a snotty comment about Postal III? It's Postal III, for god's sake! Also, the press release kicked off with a sentence about the Running With Scissors CEO getting hammered on the flight to Moscow. I don't take a shot at the game after that, I'm not doing my job.
