| How much sense does it make for a company to gag the multiplayer aspect of their game? Isn't the multiplayer aspect the primary reason for a person to purchase a legit copy as opposed to a pirated version?
What motivation do I have not to just pirate MW2 and get my multiplayer fix with the original and more robust MW? Flag this | Edit this post |

| What is that smell!? Is that someone talking out their ass?
First off, the value had by going with Microsoft OS is NOT because of Microsoft's pricing. Their OS cost just about as much as Mac's OS. Its just that Microsoft's OS runs on the PC platform which has WIDE variability, while Mac is constrained to proprietary parts.
What this means is there can be PLENTY features and value added to a PC depending on how you or the company you chooses to configure it. And honestly... 8 times out of 10, you will get a greater value by going to PC route; even if you consider stability and media capabilities (with Windows 7 or Vista with Service pack installed).
With the PC you determine the level of "quality" you want.. or what you are willing to sacrifice. Unless you go with an absolute sh*tty company that sells their computers with dust pre-installed in the case, you will usually get a stable Windows machine. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I must admit, all of my basic computing needs (eg.. everything this side of gaming/media editing) is met by my 4 year old laptop which I have connected to a 24' LCD display. I put 2GB of ram into it a couple days ago and I don't see its useful life ending any time soon. Of course my living room holds my beautiful SLI configured beast (or former beast). | btw, Loot Ninja provides HIS OWN thoughts as to why they dont develop for PS3. These thoughts are based on his personal assumption... not an analysis of the quote provided by Mr Leonard of Valve.
So if you were derive a "reason" for valve not developing for PS3 using the actual article, the reason would be "either, or" depending on whether you ask Valve, or the media-dude. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Well Orion. Your reading comprehension seems to need work. He didn't use the word "similar" anywhere in the quote... he simply said the PC and 360 are "more straightforward". He also cited the PS3 creators as having made "obscure architectural decisions" and that their system would probably appeal to someone with a "technical fetish", which is something he doesn't have.
Translation: PS3 is a pain in the ass to work with because its architecture is not straigtforward (aka, complicated).
Class dismissed. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | What this article fails to realize is that "100% realistic graphics" in computing was achieved around the time the first computer was built. How can computer graphics of any kind be unrealistic when a computer graphic is simply a visual display produced by a computer program? Flag this | Edit this post |

| ya know? After a year and a half of being on Vista (I'm one of the few people that like Vista) I just reinstalled my X-fi platinum yesterday after realizing that they FINALLY put out workable drivers for it in ~March.
Now it works great and I'm kinda pissed that I've been missing out on the I/O drive headphone amps for so long... listening to music or watching a movie at night is heavenly (and I dont even have to tick off the neighbors). Flag this | Edit this post |

| I'm so sick of all this vista-dogging. Look, Vista is the stepping stone that is making Win7 what it is.
Aside from that, Vista is actually a good, reliable product now. It has been so for quite some time now (even a bit before SP1 came out IMO). I can't believe people forget how crappy WinXP and Win2k were during the time prior to their respective service packs. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I can't really blame ubisoft for making the Tom Clancy series go Pop; they are afterall, first and foremost, in the business of making money. I moreso blame the consumers for being too shallow to appreciate the thrill provided by succeeding in a realistic sim.
But even absent the realism and tactics, the Tom Clancy series have been consistently solid (in my experience) insofar as fun-factor, story and gameplay design... it is sad to see that they have deviated from that. Given, this is their first venture into flight.. maybe they'll get it right next time. Flag this | Edit this post |
