| Steam is killing me with these deals. I've bought AudioSurf, World of Goo, Vegas 2, Civilization IV, Left4Dead, Trackmania Forever, and now Far Cry 2... just since NOVEMBER 2008...
All games I truly had no plans buying any time soon since I haven't tired of the games I had already been playing. But I see these deals.. and I ... just... can't.. resist. I'm still kinda wondering if I shoulda took the Assasin's Creed deal... but.. eh.. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I think they'd be okay as far as sales if they can knock it down to $299. The problem would be with revenue.
I'm all for Sony Games going down for this one though. To me, this is the equivalent of car makers pushing SUVs in an economy better suited for more efficient vehicles. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Oh that just hurts. I paid 37.99 for it during their last sale.. I suppose the month I've had was worth the extra $13....
I thought it was a shallow game for the first couple weeks, but after a while it just became fun... just kinda grew on me I guess. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Yeah, it sounds okay if the movie is good and game is excellent, and one of them comes free. I'm not willing to pay $59 for a movie, or for a mediocre game. Come to think of it, I'm still yet to buy a single Blu-Ray movie for my player...
Anyway, this is a gimmick at best, since, as mentioned above, movie games and tend to be subpar.
How about a remake of Wing Commander in this format? hehe :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| As far as volume, the numbers indicate that DVDs are still outselling Video Games. Of course Video games cost twice as much, so the income generated reflect the higher costs. Add to that, DVDs are now selling for dirt cheap, you can buy 3 for 19.99 quite often.
I agree with qmak that another contributing factor is rentals are increasing w/ bluray. Personally, I am yet to own a single bluray, but I have been renting them regularly. Dropping 29.99 on a movie is against most of our religions. Even at the Amazon prices I'm still holding out for when the prices fall closer to $19.99 in stores. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Jobs is no medical miracle. Jobs apparently (stress on apparently) has a rare form of pancreatic cancer which is considered to be one of the more 'treatable' forms.
If this is true, then it is no surprise that he is sitting pretty within that 12%. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Looks like L4D is going to be my New Years game...
Yeah, I'm a PC only FPS cat. Barring the absolute end of PC gaming; I'm always playing my FPS on PC.
... I am looking on craigslist for a good x360 deal though... but only for NBA 2k & Fight Night... Flag this | Edit this post |

| You must be young. I'm not too old myself, but I remember being impressed by my 20 megabyte whopper of a hard drive. Flight Sims used to be merciless on the hard drive space though... I remember Gunship 2000 making me delete everything on my HD but the essentials.
Longbow 2 was even meaner when I had a 10GB drive... bastard was 2 CDs and took up 800 MBs!! murder! Flag this | Edit this post |

| I agree with what sbuckler pointed out.
As for as this 4850 x2, the noise issue is pretty much a deal breaker to me. I was looking at the benchmarks like "me want.. now"... then I saw the ballistics and was like... me want something else.
Another thing I wanted to know was how does this baby work in crossfire mode? Does it work in crossfire mode?
I'll read around. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I like dbb970s idea, although utilizing a proprietary format means it could cost more to produce games for the media. Digital distribution is prone to several issues including connection speed/connection availability issues.
I think it is too early to judge whether or not bluray should be adopted by the nextgen Xbox as it has not been determined how widespread blu-ray will become. A lot of people still do not see the quality difference and unlike the VHS to DVD transition, you don't have revolutionary features like scene selection. Flag this | Edit this post |

| In small print on the bottom of the video it actually says that the physx effect portions are slowed down.
Thing is, if you look at both videos, even when they execute the 'slo mo', you can see the physx version is choppier. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Looking at the physx vs. no physx video, two things stand out. One; objects in the physx video do not even appear in the non-physx version, which seems to alter gameplay as physx-enabled versions may tend to have more obstructions than non-physx.
Next thing I noticed.. either they did the vid on the physx side in slo-mo, or physx in Mirror's edge will come with a massive drop in frame rate.
We shall see. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Pretentious means acting more important or special than warranted. In merchandise, the importance or special-ness of a product is reflected by its price.
Buying a PS3 is like buying a pair of jeans with diamonds embedded in it. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Solider36, if you truly have a budget, then you have even less sense than the majority of your post indicate. You budget for games in spite of whatever bills you have due? Fascinating priorities.
I'm going to give you the benefit of my many doubts and assume that your means are easily met and you 'budget' expendable income. Flag this | Edit this post |
