| But David wasn't c0cky as h3ll. And he didn't go around trying to dismiss everyone else trying to sling rocks...
I generally go with whatever technology is best but I don't really care for the macho persona Nvidia's been portraying lately. Jen-Hsun Huang is pretty gutsy in some of the things he's publicly said recently and that kind of arrogance usually goes hand in hand with falling from the top. It's the hubris of the Greek tragedies. They should probably spend less time drawing comics and talking about how awesome they are and more time developing their next gen cards.
Anyways, I'm happily supporting ATI for doing a good job and putting a hurt on the long-time GPU giant. I'll probably continue to do so unless they start acting like Nvidia. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Ya, I don't think they should milk their golden cow dry. You start sacrificing quality for quant1ty--plenty of examples of that.
Really, I think IW is the only true COD developer and they would do well to retreat a bit back to their roots--stop selling out to the soph0moric console crowd. As far as I'm concerned, they can let Treyarch do the console ports or stand alone console t1tles but PC gamers, I believe, are more sophisticated than the average console gamer and appreciate more thought put into their games.
Maybe I'm disillusioned though. Obviously there's big money in what they just did. However, it built upon their history. I got MW2 on PC because I've gotten every COD game since the first one (on PC anyways) and haven't been disappointed by IW's work yet so I didn't mind taking a gamble on this one. And I wanted to see if the no-dedicated server business etc. really impacted my experience or not. So far, the lack of lean has been my biggest annoyance but overall I keep coming back to play it. At any rate, the first COD was absolutely ground-breaking when it came out and provides the context for my top gaming memories, both in SP and MP modes.
If they try to overdo the franchise and try to cover mediocrity with a waning reputation, then I'll sadly have to break things off with my COD love affair and play back through the original greats with scotch glass in hand and a nostalgic tear in my eye. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Holy Cow!!!
First of all, a definite big round of applause and much respect to the other compet1tors. This was a very enjoyable contest and a very pleasant and top rate group of people to "compete" with--it truly did feel like more of a community builder than anything else.
Secondly, a very big and heartfelt thanks to Firing Squad for making this contest possible and for bringing in other factors to the mix. Never before have I seen a contest that enables enthusiasts of various backgrounds to contribute and compete on a weighted basis like this.
Finally, I'll reiterate another thanks to the sponsors who reach out and give back to their supporters by providing us with some great hardware and a great opportunity to put it to the test. I will definitely continue to support these companies.
Sincerely,

| LOL. I know--I honestly hesitated. I'm not a big fan of the great american lager or the silver bullet for that matter. Pretty much all of the beer I drink comes in bottles. In fact, the only reason I even had the BL at all is because it was left in my fridge after some friends came over.
At any rate, when scouring the fridge for aluminum cans it was the only one in there. I had to split it with my wife to get through it. I guess the saying holds, "Necessity is the mother of all inventions..." Plus, it turns out that Franziskaner bottles don't make good dry ice pots :(
I think my Beer Cooler 2.0 will be a 16 oz tall boy of some sort...I'll have to search for suitable candidates. Flag this | Edit this post |

| LOL--thanks! Ya, I'm kicking myself that I got too hasty and added too much dry ice. After it boiled over, I had to take the can off the processor and by then its "structural integrity" became compromised so I couldn't reuse it. I wish I would've got at least one run out of it...Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
Nice job on your results btw :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| First of all, kudos to you Deux for your awesome clocks. I also think I pushed high 3.9's on air (coolermaster hyper tx2). Secondly, nice work Slugbug!
Like slugbug, I don't have anything fancy as far as cooling solutions go, but we'll see if I can't pull something out of my hat!
Stay tuned folks...it should be good, er, at least funny ;) Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Ya, I got mine too. Dan said that the mobo and ram are coming directly from the respective manufacturers so there's really no telling how soon they'll arrive. Thanks again FS and AMD! Flag this | Edit this post |
