| | Heh...I was just thinking the same thing but you beat my post. My system uses around 500w at the socket while gaming and that totally freaks me out. We'll probably be sli'n whole pc's in a few years the way things are going. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | If 2 5850's in crossfire comes in around 30-40% faster than a 295gtx and they get the 5850 down around $200-230 a piece, they will no doubt destroy nvidia if nvidia is late again with one of their uber expensive cards. Should be interesting. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | If people were happy with some high settings, no AA averaging 20-30 fps then yes, the 8800gt was the card of choice and you could play the game. The 8800gt ended up being damn near as fast as an Ultra anyways in Crysis. Crysis plays best averaging 40+ fps IMO and looks best with 4x-8xaa which no 8800gt could get close too achieving except maybe at low res. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I think there are too many stale cookie-cutter games these days and with the economy, people are just waiting to buy AAA titles with lasting online play to get some mileage out of their purchase. My PS3 is collecting a lot of dust and I haven't seen a game worth buying since GTA4. I doubt price cuts will help much. They should maybe try lowering game prices back down to $40 to $50 or make some games worth buying first. Atleast the PS3 is a excellent Blu-ray player or I would have sold it months ago. | | I was one of the whiners that paid $630 for a 8800 Ultra K.O. assuming it would at least play it on high at 1680x1050 and found I couldn't even get the game playable. Damn right I whined. I learned a valuable lesson though, when Crytek implies it will take a couple of years for hardware to catch up they aren't kidding. It took 2 260's in sli to finally make the game run and look the way I wanted it to. Luckily I bought a rare Ultra card so it sold for a high price on Ebay last summer and I got almost half my money back. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | It will probably be free with the DX11 graphics cards at some point so I will wait until then. I dunno, $60 isn't so bad as long as we keep getting free maps that console players have to pay for. If I have to start paying for add on's, that will be a deal breaker. I'd probably pay $50 on release day but $60 is hard to swallow overall and I can wait. Flag this | Edit this post |
