| I think yer all wet on this. Even taking into consideration price/performance ratios, Intel STILL comes out on top.
For comparison, I priced out the Intel e6600 at $299.00 (US), which easily outperforms the X2 6000+ at $488.00 (US). (Both are the cheapest prices I could currently find).
Now keep this in mind. Intel's "Middle-of-the-line" CPU outperforms AMD's FASTEST CPU to date and saves you $189.00 to boot! That $189.00 will go pretty far into your video card investment.
I'm sorry, but at this point, Intel is the only logical choice I can see. Flag this | Edit this post |

| | I'm a current Sirius subscriber and my biggest issue with the service is the damn aweful quality of the sound. There is a reason why Sirius doesn't publish the data rate. My best guess (Based upon ripping (MP3) music to recreate the sound I hear), is that they are using a bit rate of about 48k. The music I hear is plagued with "swirly" sounding artifacts, no high end above 12KHz or so and a horribly compressed dynamic range. They would surely increase thier subscribership if they reduced the overall channel choices and increased the fidelity (bit rate)of the sound. As it stands now, I will most likely discontinue paying for this AM-ish quality sound. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Ah, another useless "tromp on your rights" law for the children's sake. Is it just me, or do you folks find that the government is overstepping it's bounds as usual?
Citizens of the U.S. of A., time to wake up and take our country back. Vote the idiots out! Flag this | Edit this post |

| My current addition is EQ2 (No need to discuss my 4 years on EQ! ha ha). My main character has in excess of 120 days time played (Not to mention my numberous "alts"). This may be a bad thing for many, but since I've been married for 20 years and have raised two children to adulthood, I think I've earned my wasted time LOL. Besides, many people waste even more time in front of a TV. I rarely watch TV.
Anyway, as for the "social" aspects, EQ2 has not replaced my social interaction, but instead, has expanded it. As a result, I have made several Real Life friends during my game play.
I guess it all boils down to the fact that I could be doing worse things with my idle time, right? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | M.U.L.E. May have been one of the most addictive games ever. There are MULE clones out there, but they never matched the "magic" of the original. Now Archon and MULE on the same disk would be a huge seller to us aging home computer pioneers :) Flag this | Edit this post |

| By today's standards, Archon and Archon II are very simple games. They would have to completely revamp the way the game is played to appeal to today's gamer, thus ruining it's simple but addictive strategy.
Back in the day, I played Archon/Archon II for hundreds of hours on the C-64. So much so, I developed nerver damage in my fire button thumb! It went numb for a year or more after I stopped playing! Flag this | Edit this post |

| | This is all BS. In Fox's own book (Lucky Man: A Memoir) , he wrote that prior to testifying before congress, he decied not to take his medications so that his symptoms would be more severe. Rush pointed out that this seems to be the case with Fox's recent political adds (attacks). While his disease is quire real, he is not exactly being "up front" with his condition. In fact, it's a bit deceptive. Rush simply called him on it, so why appologize? Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Under what criteria? Let's see... Lowest unemployment rate in the past 40 years, low inflation, strong sustained economic growth for several years, no further attacks by terrorists on our soil since the 9/11 attack. Yeah, what a crappy track record. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Quoting New York Times and the Washington Post??? LOL You're killing me! You might as well quote www.ihatebush.com !
Anyway, Cheney did get deferments from duty as a student and new father. This is no different from the millions of others who also received such considerations at the time. Besides, if this draft dodging, then your hero William Jefferson Clinton is just as guilty.
As for Bush, his service record showed that he did his duty and his performance in his service met all expectations required by his duties. This goes way beyond those thousands of draft dodgers of the time.
Nice try though... Flag this | Edit this post |

| Last time I checked, the vast majority of our population never served or saw action. This is NOT a qualification to serve as president. However, unlike this coward, our president served his country with honor regardless of what liberal propaganda you may subscribe to.
Time to get over it, Bush won... Jeez... Flag this | Edit this post |
