I'm glad that hardware manufacturers won't be attending (or at least not as much as in the past). Maybe it can get back to being about the GAMES, and less about the hardware driving them. At these kinds of things, I'm sure showing their hardware is infinitely more important to them than pimpin' whatever software might be on display.
I don't buy that today's PCs aren't capable of the performance required to run Gears of Wars, as evidenced with the "or do we have to wait in five years until everyone has a PC that can run it" line.
I'm still trying to find mine. I've dedicated about 10 hours over the past few weeks to calling all kinds of stores as far as a half-hour away. I've come this close to breaking down and just forking over the $100 Ebay tax.

I own both of them. They played fine, worked well and were just as fun as their console counterparts (at least from what my potentially-jaded memory affords me). I'd rather not have to spend 600 bucks on a PS3 just so I can play FF XVII, CXMX or whatever number they're on now. :)
edit: checking my CD case for FF VII reveals EIDOS as the PC publisher. Not sure where my VIII is at the mo.
Uhh.. man.. I'm trying to think of "one of the best loved PC franchises of all time" that hasn't already been revived of late. Starcraft? (lol, just kidding).. umm.. umm.. I'm tapping out. Someone get in the ring.
