| Even though I think the standalone physics card will tank and that crap will just get rolled into a separate core or small enough to put on the GPU itself.
Remember back in the day when 3D cards were separate from the regular video cards..(aka Voodoo and Voodoo2) I remember thinking, "WTF!?!?! I can already play games on my 8MB video card...WTF do I need a 3D graphics card for. Flag this | Edit this post |

| im sorry, the physics card might be a nice niche product. but I don't think many people are interested in having yet another card to buy in their system. God forbid we get to the point of having hardware physics cards being a requirement.
from the under 18 point of view, I imagine its tough enough to convince mom and pop to get that super sexy GPU...now they gotta sell them on a physics card too?
keep it small and integrated into the graphics card and all will be good.
I may rip on 3d graphics since people seem to care more about the visuals than good gameplay, but at least with graphics..you can literally see the improvement when you get a next gen video card if you do a side by side comparison. Can you say the same with software/hardware physics accelleration? I'm guessing not. Flag this | Edit this post |

| sadly, there just aren't enough "Killer Apps" anymore. GRAW is the only thing that comes even close to a killer app.
I miss the days of Wing Commander and Xwing and Command and Conquer. didn't matter if you liked sims or RTS...those were games you just simply HAD to have. Flag this | Edit this post |

| They obviously chose the wrong game to hold hostage. Sure people like me have been waiting a long time to play H2 on PC, but guess what. I've been waiting this long and never broke down and bought it for the Xbox. Obviously ive shown patience. So I dunno why MS seems to think that I'll suddenly throw logic out the window and buy Vista warts and all right out of the gate.
And Im part of the small percentage who actually still wants to play H2...as many of you have already expressed...no one gives a shit about H2 anymore. maybe if they had made some other killer app Vista only it would have worked. Flag this | Edit this post |

| its not a question of *liking* an OS or not...far from it. Its a question of whether or not it is worth it to upgrade. and usually at launch and for at least a few months until the get the first patches out...it's not.
I'll get a copy of it at work and play with it there..but hey, I get paid to do that and someone else will be paying for Vista. It won't touch my home PC for a good while...probably not until the first service pack. Flag this | Edit this post |

I thought Halo was an ok game, not great. I bought the PC port of H1 because I just won't tolerate FPS games and console controllers. So I for one am looking forward to this port...Not enough to jump to Vista...but I *AM* looking forward to this port.
