| | (Post a comment) » Hellgate: London to sport DX10 graphicsFollowing Crysis, today NVIDIA announced that Flagship Studios premiere title, Hellgate: London will sport DX10 graphics and also be one of the first titles to include support for Havok FX physics, which uses the GPU to handle some physics processing. Here's a bit from the PR:
NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) will show Hellgate: London this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. NVIDIA has been working closely with developer Flagship Studios on its debut title, which includes support for Havok FXTM physics and Microsoft's ShaderModel 3.0. Hellgate: London will also be one of the industry's first DirectX 10 games.
"NVIDIA’s expertise has made a huge impact on the quality of our game," said Bill Roper, co-founder and CEO of Flagship Studios. "Thanks to excellent developer tools and unprecedented developer support, we can spend less time on debugging and more time where it counts – taking advantage of the blazing speed and incredible features these cards provide such as hardware shadow maps, Shader Model 3, and floating-point render targets.”
If you recall, Flagship Studios was formed by a group of ex-Blizzard employees, including Bill Roper. We have a Hellgate: London gallery up with 8 screenshots here. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |

I would agree with you if you said they both suck for the things
that they have done to consumers but to say one sucks and the other
is great makes you nothing but an unobjective fanboy.

I HAVE BEEN KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON THIS GAME.
THIS GAME SEEMS COOL.
THE SCREENSHOTS JUST KEEP ON GETTING BETTER!
WELL THIS IS A FIRST WAVE OF DX10 GAMES SO YOU HAVE TO GIVE IT A
BREAK I'M SURE IT WILL HAVE A COUPLE OF SOUPED UP EFFECTS WHICH WILL
MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A DX10 TITLE.
BUT WHATS THIS &&@! ABOUT NVIDIA? @#@% WE NEED MORE GAMES TO SUPPORT
ATI. ATI HAS A TIE-UP WITH MS. UNLIKE THOSE @#@% TRAITORS NVIDIA WHO
ARE KISSING SONY'S !$#.
@#@% I THINK I WONT BUY THIS GAME IF IT HAS THAT STUPID "WAY
ITS MEANT TO BE PLAYED" LOGO. RIGHT NVIDIA YOU ARE LIKE GONNA
TELL ME HOW TO PLAY GAMES? GO AND TELL THOSE SONY JERKERS THAT HOW
DO YOU PLAY GAMES N &&@!.
ANYWAYS MS IS THE BEST AND SONY WILL BURN IN HELL.
BOYCOTT SONY PRODUCTS EVERYONE.
AS OF 15TH MARCH 2005 I HAVE NOT BOUGHT ANY SONY PRODUCTS.

It just means we won't seeing these guys online in-game since they
have no idea what this is anyway.
Not a bad thing.
