mechwarrior 2 was the best and still is the best in the series. the
new mech games have disappointed me, especially mech4. mech 3 was
ok, but too short and whats up with staying on the same planet for
the whole game, very unmech like. blah!

From the pictures of MW4 it looks like the game is going to rock. I
can't wait to see this game in action.
Just a random fact. The first MechWarrior game was made at Dynamix
in Eugene OR. It wasn't that great but it was mostly a tech limit
that made it suck rather than the programers fault.

I always thought MechCommander had potential. Although it did have
some pretty big flaws. Those !% LRM's were too !% good... I
sure hope they make all or at least most of the weapons from the
Battletech manuals available.

For the next game, it'd be really cool if they dropped the Clans vs
Inner Sphere story and went back to the Fourth Succession War. House
Davion vs House Liao and Kurita. Oh yeah baby. It'd a lot more mechs
in it too. Just my 2 cents

actually, to add a little more... :)
I think Mechwarrior 4 should at LEAST be "longer" than
Mechwarrior3. I got pretty annoyed when I bought Mech3, played it
for two days and finished it.
I'm also somewhat against the idea of a targetting system where you
can just press the numpad to target the lasers at a specific Mech
body part. In a FASA Mechwarrior handbook, it mentions that the
"Mechwarrior's [deadliness] comes from within the
warrior...which includes his elite aim and handling of his
Mech." I've always had to manually aim my lasers in previous
Mech games and I enjoy that. It seems surprisingly easy when one can
just press a button to do the aiming.
I mean, come on, think of Star Wars Episode IV, Luke didn't use the
stupid computer to shoot the torpedoe and destroy the Death Star! He
counted on HIMSELF...and the Force...but mainly HIMSELF. :)))

I've always loved Mechwarrior games and I've waited a good six years
to experience Co-operative play in Mech games. After all, we work as
a team in the game, it would be soooo awesome to be able to finish
the game with friends.
I didn't enjoy MechCommander much but just the thought of Co-op
Multiplayer in MechCmdr2 seems so %@#&&!&! Imagine comtrolling
little squadron of your own and same with your friend. You and your
buddy has to go take out an enemy outpost together. OMG!!
Rock on!!
PS - I agree it's a little too arcade-y but then good action is what
I like. :)
