» Silent Hill Movie Sequel Coming?

Despite mixed reviews, last spring's movie version of the Silent Hill horror game frachise did solid box office returns. Now Comingsoon.net is reporting via a French media source that a sequel to the movie may be in development. According to the article, the original movie's scriptwwriter Roger Avary will return to pen the sequel (he's currently slated to write and direct the movie adaptation of the Driver game franchise). Silent Hill's original director Christophe Gans may come back to direct the sequel. His next project will be to write and direct another video game based movie, Onimusha.

I think this is great , i dunno about you guys but i think Silent Hill is pretty much the best videogame to movie adaptation yet.. the story isn't identical but they totally captured the look and feel of the games..Now, release it on hd-dvd and ill be a happy camper.

I agree with best video game adaptation yet. The plot was a little confusing for me, not having played any Silent Hill games, but the movie was suspenseful and gorgeous to look at.

No sh*t? The ending of the Silent Hill movie quite blatantly foreshadowed a sequel... :P

I doubt the sequel will be connected to the characters of the first movie. The first movie ended much like the games do; not your typical "happy ending".

How so? The sequal to the game had very little to do with the first game.. So why would the movie make any difference?

Because with movies, you are allowed to fuck up the games. :)
