 Tiger Woods Out...Until August!

| | (Post a comment) » GDC: Shadowrun ImpressionsDuring Microsoft's GDC press event Tuesday we got to see an updated build of Shadowrun, the multiplayer first person shooter that's being developed for both the PC and Xbox 360 by FASA Studios. Last time we got to see the game it was way back in September of 2006 and there was a lot of placeholder artwork but the game at that time. Now Shadowrun has gotten a lot better looking, with better visual effects and final art for two of the game's player classses (the dwarf and troll). Shadowrun remains a very fast paced shooter with tons of options. We got to see a new level from the game, a huge multi-level map set in a poor section of town with lots of detail in the level textures.
As with Halo 2 Vista, Shadowrun will use Live for Windows which means PC players will have access to things like achievements, voice chat and more along with their Xbox 360 counterparts. Unlike Halo 2 Vista, Shadowrun is being designed specifically to allow PC and Xbox 360 players to combat each other in multiplayer. FASA plans to invite Xbox 360 owners to participate in beta testing for the game (there's no word yet on PC beta testing yet). As we mentioned for Halo 2 Vista, people who already have an Xbox Live Gold membership will be able to carry over that membership to Live for Windows. Overall Shadowrun is progressing well and we hope to have a more extensive hands-on time with the game later this year. | Previous news article | Back to main news | Next news article |
